Seat Mod, Buell Ulysses. I know there was something written about problems with the seat pressing on the ECM and possibly causing trouble so I decided to do this simple mod to alleviate this. This is the stock seat pan with the vent (two bars across). The image shows the contact points highlighted in red. The forward contact point is from the bumper and that's all that should be touching but on mine the two ECM connectors are making contact. This is the ECM showing the same points of contact. First I cut the two bars out of the vent hole using a box cutter. Then I used a 1.5" spade bit to make the second hole at the other connector contact point. I photoshopped these images to get the negative (flipped) images and this double exposure showing the results of the relief for the ECM connectors. Pretty simple mod all-in-all. Enjoy! --- 08Uly Uly Data Page (Message edited by 08uly on July 06, 2008) |

Interesting Mod, I had the same issue and it looks like it has already started cracking my connector plug-in to the ECM. I just relocated the ECM under the battery tray. I might do this mod and put it back. |

When I bought the '06 low seat it came with another ECM spacer block. I put that in and it fixed the problem. |

Good idea 08Uly, I think I'll do a similar job on my 06 Uly,it's rubbing like yours was. Cheers. |

I thought about doing the same thing when mine had the problem. It was still on warrenty so I decided to let them fix it. I sure would like to know what they did. It is cured with no noticeable sign of what the fix was but it don't rub no mo. One spacer in the usual place. Everything looks stock. |

I just filed down the connectors - seems to have worked. |
