How do you guys carry/store your spare drive belt while traveling? I know that they don't like any sharp bends. |

I used 2 tie straps to make a dogbone shape with the end loops about 8" dia. I layed the whole thing across the topcase bracket in an inverted u-shape (just behind the seat) and tie strapped it to the turn signal stalks. It was out of the way and rode happily there for a week. |

Any other good ways to carry the spare? |

How about zip-tying it to the underside of the rear rack? |

Yep. I zip tied it in the middle and then zip tied the two end loops together. Nothing has much of an aggressive bend in it. Box swallows it whole. I would recommend changing your belt before the old one starts looking ragged. This will allow you a pre-stretched replacement for the side of the road. |

Fb-thanks. That is a great idea about having a pre-stretched belt for a spare. |

Worked ok. Interfered with opening the bags while on the bike though. I probably could have positioned it to eliminate that problem, but I didn't discover it till underway. |

Bandsaw blade tri-fold; put in side or top case. No problem with radii. |

That bandsaw-style twisting is bad for the belt, isn't it? I prefer to fold it over like a heart and hold it together at the points marked in red.
YAY! microsoft paint! ha ha ! Anyways, it will fit in my starter backpack like that. |

I would not think the Dr. Greg method would be hard on it at all. You can bet bandsaw blades are much more fragile. |

The bandsaw trifold (coiling) method does not hurt the belt. Radius is not too small. |

Well... Regarding the band saw blade twist, twisting the belt is also a No-No according to the Service Manual: --- 08Uly Uly Data Page
