i have installed the 1125r mirrors on a firebolt now i know the black is the ground but the new mirrors both wires are black one is male and other is female on firebolt both are males and color coded on the 1125r mirrors which one is ground male or female please help??????? |

Generally a power lead will be a female so that if the (insulated) terminal happens to touch electrical ground, it won't short out. So the male from the mirror should be ground if that premise holds true. Actually, it probably doesn't make any difference if the bulb sockets are wired such that neither wire is grounded to the bike frame at the mirror. |

i wired it so the female is hooked to the black on bike and worked. i called a electrician last night and offered the same advise saying that grounded threw mount so it prob. wont matter which way hooked up.. i guess i had a 50/50 chance of it working haha .. now off to buy a led flasher to slow them down blink fast but now leds in front and back sweet looks cool and easy to install thanks sparky i would send pics but to big of file size and dont know how to reduce size wife 2003 xb9r firebolt white me 2005 xb12scg black |

I tried the wires each way and it only worked the one way. Then i just cut and re-terminated the wire on the mirror to fit the factory wire harness |
