Some great products that I am interested in purchasing for my 1125R are from the UK. The U.S. dollar has lost some value compared to GBP, due to our economy, I assume. I have noticed that the dollar does rise in value toward the beginning/end and middle of the month. Again I am assuming, it is because that is when a lot of people are paid, so they spend. So what is the outlook for the Dollar to rise, or the UK Pound to drop? Or is this an unknown and I should just watch day to day and decide for myself when I can get the most for my money? |

As an American, why not try to find similar products manufactured here, as opposed to supporting the UK economy when ours is in such bad shape? I would think that, for these American machines, analogous products could be found on our own shores. What limey products are you seeking? |

Tramp, I completely agree with you, but so far few U.S. manufactures have produced anything. So far, The Only exhaust systems worth having are from the UK. Full fairing kits, UK. Tag and light cleanup exclusively for the 1125R that uses stock blinkers, which is exactly what I wanted, you guessed it from the UK. If U.S. manufactures come up with something I would be glad to purchase it if worth having. I have been waiting to see a Drummer exhaust, but none yet. Next years model is just around the corner and not even buell has any goodies for the 1125R other than some standard items that fit the XB bikes as well. So back to topic. When to buy? |

I wouldn't expect our Dollar to recover any substantial value against the British Pound or Euro anytime soon. If you presently have the expendable cash this wonderful hobby/passion/addiction of our's frequently requires, buy what you want and enjoy it now. |

Wait for a dead cat bounce. That's all you can hope for at the time. |

I would expect our economy to get a little perkier after the election. Not much, but a little. So much of the stock market is sheer speculation, that truth matters very little. If people just think a change is coming, the stock market will reflect it. Wait until right after the election and see if it'll give your wallet a boost. ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on June 30, 2008) |

FYI, futures traders started going "long" the dollar 3 weeks ago. The last time this happened ['02 I think..], the dollar rose 20% against the Euro et al. over the next 6 months. Yer pays yer money 'n yer takes yer chances.... |

Oh... my bad: "back on topic": when to buy? How about after finding an American firm producing these parts. Spending our Dollars in other countries isn't helping things...is the back of your Uly THAT insufferable? |
