i have a 01 blast and just got it all ready for summer with new gas fresh oil new plug cleaned the carb and it has brand new battery. it runs good until it gets hot then seems to bog down and loose power and wont start again. i go back a half hour to 45 minutes later and starts right up. someone told me i should check my electrical connections and my grounds and they all seemed fine, if any anyone can help please let me know thanks. |

next time it happens, loosen the gas cap and see if that fixes it. If it does, there is a block in the vent hose on the gas tank. |

Have you ever replaced the manifold coupler? That doesn't sound like what's wrong, but it could be. |

2001 blast was left for 5 years with gas in system. (picked it up for free at this time because previous owner couldn't get it started) Drained and changed all fluids spark plug carb coupler, took apart the carb and cleaned well (Jets etc) put some sea foam in tank, ran for a while. Got it to start with proper idle speed. After the bike warms up, it idles 200-300 rpm high. sometimes will return to low idle, but rarely. Makes for hard shifts from gear to gear when throttle is released and doesn't return to low speed. Any ideas? |
