...I knew I shouldn't have agreed to a test ride. My stable grows by one black Ulysses XB12XT on Monday...now to see how much of that 500mi break in I can complete before leaving for Homecoming the next morning. >.< |

Ditto, Keith - and expect me to hit you up for some new sliders for the Uly in the next couple months. I'll need to talk to Odie about some heat blankets, too. ...guess I should finally break down and look into this newfangled ECMSpy doohickey everyone raves about. |

Yep, I sat on the XT the other day. It took every ounce of my being Not to take it for a test ride.

My condolences Bryan. You are not the first to fall victim to the temptations of a new Buell. You know better than most that there is no cure so I suggest you stop fighting it. The XT is now your new master. Obey (Message edited by Metalstorm on June 28, 2008) |

=D I took it for a decent spin to start the break-in, but unfortunately I got a late start and had prior obligations, so I was limited to a measly 65 miles or so. Tomorrow I'll just be tooling all over the place, so hopefully I can put another 300+ on it then before heading to Homecoming first thing Wednesday morning. I love the bike, and the 12 is really smooth compared to my 9. Transmission is a vast improvement, but two things will definitely need adjusting. 1) I'm gonna need to play around with different windshields to find one that will do away with the wind blast hitting me in the shoulders. I can already tell that's going to be a big fatigue-inducer. It would probably help if I had a damned jacket that fit properly. >.< Is it Strada that has that big adjustable screen? 2) Holy HEAT, Batman...that rear head starts cooking my leg less than 3 minutes into a ride. When I got home I popped off the seat and no wonder, the damned thing's like 1/4" from the frame and right where the seat meets it. I have some heat wrap at work that I may have to stop in and try to rig something up with until I can get Odie to make me some blankets. All in all, though, Mr. Buell and the Elves have done it again. There's going to be a real problem years down the road when I once again get the urge for two new wheels - I'm out of garage space! ...I'd have pictures, but my girlfriend nicked the camera! |
