Actually, the guy on the far right, Randy, got the warning. The cop never even addressed the rest of us, we just stopped because Randy was leading us out of staters on a ride. You are going to court for a wheelie? DAMN. Did the policeman already know you or have it out for you or something? I got a warning at home in Austin for wheelieing(sp) that said "exhibition of accelleration." They told me they liked wheelies and would probably do them if they had bikes, but to never do a wheelie down town ever again. I was so surprised by this understanding attitude, that I don't do wheelies downtown, anymore. I imagine the jurors will go easy on you. If you think about it in perspective, it is just silly. Let us know what happens. |

>>>>I go to pre trial on monday for popin a wheelie. Well, for what it's worth, there's an engineer in Wisconsin who could have suffered the same fate. About 7 months before the world had a hint of what an S-1 Lighting was, we went for a bit of a "shakedown ride". I was on the S-1 and he on "Big Red". Thye first "close encounter" was on a rural road (Nature Road) where we were . . . . well . . a "bit airborne" and we topped the hill with the radar on it. East Troy Cop Bike diplomatic immunity paid off. Then it was through the hamlet of Muksonago, where one of us was basically a "wanted man" for prior transgressions, unbeknownest to me. The guy styling on the old Softail was a big too arrogant for my partner. The sound of the well-known OoooooWahhhhhhhh of a Buell throttle hitting the stop preceeded one of life's great 3rd gear wheelies. As misfortune sometime happens, the seat on the S-2 had no been properly secured and became unsecure. Panic and set it down? No way, he simply hooked the left foot back over the seat and passed the guy. Geeeeshhh....and we lived to tell this stuff. Remind me to tell you the story about mistaken identity and getting "tailed" through Mukwonogo on Barney once. The sacrifices others have made so that you Hooligans can have fun . . . |

Skulley, Just how far did you ride that wheelie? I have had a bunch of motor cops beg(ask) me to pull wheelies for them. |

Skulley, Where is that super cool and groovy skull on the S1 from? How can I get one? Looks like it should fit an S2, even though I am not the type to add chrome to my Buell (maybe I could powder coat it white to match the frame), but it sure fits me. BTW, just got back from a 1090 km weekend ride in Germany - I am back in my hotel in Berlin now. I was on a borrowed BMW Enduro as my S2 is in North Carolina waiting for me to come home for the Deal's Gap Adventure. I did 180 KPH (on knobby tires!) on the Autobahn on the way back today. Thanks, 1313 |

1313, I made it out of a bong. The jaw bone is hinged. A spring lets the mouth open the faster you ride. Ya think I could market it as a "tire smoking accessory"? Just kidding, you can find them at www.jbsengineering.com |

Please.....I thought the pictures of the famed Curious George "why he had forgotten he could ride on one wheel" pic had been destoyed. Preceded the week that Messrs Buell and Canfield went on Harley-Davidson "Doulbe Super Probation" by Scott Miller for "rendering 3 company owned vehicle inoperative within a 12 month period" We were placed at 2-1/2 each with a stern warning. What can I say....we slipped? . . . we were pushed ? |

Sounds like an opportunity to get real creative with the definition of "operative"... like... well, I think the petcock is still operative (so long as you remove the mangled fuel line and use a screwdriver to dig out that asphalt) I can just picture some engineers late at night dragging a wadded bike back to the factory and trying to scrounge up enough spare parts to get it "operative" before morning.... The stories Court can tell are fun enough, but I bet the ones he CAN'T tell are the real jaw droppers.... |

pic #1 above: me 'n Erik standing in front of the BLURR at the first Blue Groove, way back in '96. i'm holding a "Long Distance Rider" award, having ridden down to Santa Cruz, CA for the gig from my home in western WA, and also holding a "People's Choice--Favorite Buell" award. yes, it was an amazing weekend, and yes, i was pretty stoked. photo by Jeremy Ricker. pic #2: Erik presenting Court with a "Geez, dude, you can't ride a decent wheelie to save your life!" T-shirt, in honor of Court trashing yet ANOTHER motorcycle bearing Erik's name on the tank. pic #3: me on Dave "Gumby" Grundvig's silver S2T, my buddy Milt on the BLURR in the background, just outside Kernville, CA during one of my vacations down here, back before i decided i'd be wayyyy better off living here full-time! photo by Gumby. pic #4: remember this bike from the cover of Battle 2Win? sure you do! for some reason, Reg opted not to run this shot, but the warning is valid. pic #5: Mark, Jeremy Ricker and Jim Corso (the Hooligan who is posting these pix), posing with their bikes and the BLURR, on top of Detroit Dam in Oregon. yes, it was cold. yes, it was wet. yes, we were having a ball. cool memories!
