They're real, but not available in the US. I emailed the Canadian distributor asking for a poster (thought it would look, um, strange in the garage), but never heard back. |

I bet the wind feels great between your toes... while you still have them. I just started wearing sandals again. I wouldn't mind a pair of those... not for riding of course. I wouldn't even ride a bicycle with my Tevas on. Here's a guy looking pretty cool in his sandals... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMdfOGdayK4 You just gotta shake your head sometimes... |

I was riding my Blast on the 610 Loop in Houston the other day. I had on full riding gear even thought it was 95 degrees. A guy passed me on another brand of motorcycle. He was going at least 85 and was wearing nothing but sandals, shorts and a belt. I just shook my head. What an idiot! |

My friends related an incident that happened to them back in 1990 when they both quit their jobs, packed up their bikes and went off to find America. It was in Utah. The air temperature was over a hundred degrees. They were passed by a man riding a GoldWing wearing nothing but SHORTS! No gloves, no shoes, no shirt... just SHORTS! Now if the air temperature was over a hundred they couldn't IMAGINE how hot the blacktop was. They wanted to follow him into town to see what he did when he had to stop. They figured he'd be like those desert lizards that put their feet down and quickly switch feet when they get too hot. Idiots ride all brands and styles of motorcycles. |

They never followed him so they don't know. I said they "wanted to follow him." I didn't say they did. You can't help but wonder, though... |

I gotta get this off my chest - When I was living on Maui in '73, I would often ride my '56 Panhead about a half mile to the beach... Wearing just shorts & helmet! (it was the LAW then) Beach towel bungied to the 'bar. Kick starting it with the metal kick pedal I had on it was interesting. Not too bright! I'm lotsa more smartish now. AL |

I was driving home the other day in my cage, following a dude on a SV1000. From behind, it appeared he was kitted out in full gear - decent jacket and pants and helmet. I followed him into the gas station to fuel up when I took notice of the fact he wasn't wearing gloves and he was wearing sandals! We both fueled up and went in to pay. He was about 20 years old. I asked him why he did not have a pair of boots or gloves. His answer was, 'Do you know how much that shit costs, man!". I made a conscience effort to try and explain to him that no amount skin lost is a fair substitute to any amount of money. He was stupid enough to tell me he knew how to ride and does not intend on ever laying his bike down! I wished him all the luck. These sandals are a farce. Obviously another Canadian company’s desperate attempt to enter a ‘lucrative’ market. Where are all the heroes? ATGATT Dan |

The Indians and the Paki's over here would never imagine wearing anything but a sandal. They are building huge skyscrapers all throughout the Mid-East (Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain....) wearing sandals and robes and such. Hardhat? What's a hardhat? |

Dbf- I wear Gloves on my scoot only in very cold weather.... ...been riding this way for over 40 years. Should I expect a lecture from you? (Bata is actually a Czech firm with a cold-war central distributorship in Canada) |

went up to maggie valley to day with a couple from my complex and friends of theirs. the only thing the guy from the complex was missing was gloves and jacket(had a sleeveless shirt). his girlfriend who will be learning to ride in the not so distant future had a half helmet, sleeveless shirt, tennis shoes and those pants that barely go to the calf. of course he looks at me and says, it's to hot for that and in turn i tell him that i'd rather sweat than bleed. hey, it's his decision. |

Greg's Rule for Riding Gear: If you couldn't low crawl across a hundred feet of hot asphalt in your riding gear, you need some better riding gear. |
