Go to IronMachine.com and buy a second high beam to put in place of the low beam. Then put good bulbs in (silver star Sylvania's..or like). A million times better..I have no problems, and I ride with a black out visor on my helmet. Or you can go HID for a couple hundred or so and look for a place to mount your ballast for the next year..lol, but that works too.

The low beam SUCKS THE BIG ONE on XBR's

They have a plate built into them that cuts the light beam in half.

My riding buddy just bought one at advanced auto parts for $20 for his firebolt.

The reflector coating is the culprit in many 'bolt lights. no bulb will make it better
if the reflector is bad.

A new reflector and HID bulb is considered to be a permanent fix, as is the Hella retro-fit
but neither is a simple fix.

While we're talking about headlights, the high bean on my XB12scg Lightning is really awful. I've been doing a lot of night riding out in the sticks and if it weren't for my riding buddy lighting up the road for me from behind with his Gold Wing, I'd probably have to ride at 30 mph.

Anyone else have issues with this and perhaps a solution.

When mine was finally toast, I bought another High Beam. I like the look better...bought it just a week ago. I can see if my dealership can get a Low beam for ya.

My low beam burned out on me recently, but it was a different cause. It looks like the pin on the connector to the wiring harness got warm enough, and actually melted the plastic. I used my test light and I still have power to the pin on the main harness side of the connector, but nothing on the headlight side of it. Anyone know where I can get just a new wiring harness for the headlight without having to buy the whole assembly? Sorry, not trying to hi-jack your thread
