For the BLAST, what is that sound when you initially turn the key to "on",,,it lasts only a few seconds,,,there is no mention of it in the owners manual...it is clearly caused by something getting electrically energized....I assume you all know the sound so i wont describe it more unless necessary,,,Thanks. | ||

Is it spinning backward to bring it to zero? I think he wants to know exactly what is happening. It's a strange sound, and I always figured that since the only thing mechanical was the speedo, that it's spinning backward inside to reset it to zero or something. | ||

thanks all,,,i will assume it is the speedometer and not give it any further thought...although - spinning backward to bring it to zero is interesting,,isn't it at zero when the engine is off?? | ||

Me too! My bike doesn't make any noise until I hit the start button - the speed sensor died so I put a tach in the stock speedo housing. |
