I think once I'm done with teaching and racing I will be able to hit it hard. I HOPE to be able to put some pounds back on the right way. But first I want to get rid-o-the-lard. |

They will be hand in hand and skipping at Homecoming Damn it Mark! My wife read this and asked "isn't Mark that the one you roomed with last year and did all the moaning that night?" Now after 21 years of marriage, you have said enough to have her question my manhood! "hand and hand, skipping" .......you bastard! |

I know official weigh in isn't until tomorrow, but the scale looked up and smiled at me today--261 lbs. That's 60 lbs down in 85 days so far. Another 6 lbs and I'll be past the half way mark to my goal of 190. (Message edited by badlionsfan on June 29, 2008) |

if you follow the NS plan, it will work. you will get a meal planner with your shipment that tells you what to add to the NS food. start drinking at least 8 8 ounce glasses of water a day, very important. make sure you join their discussion boards, VERY helpful info. stay on the men's page tho, unless you want to read about women not having the will power to turn down chocolate cake or something. feel free to pm me if you have any questions about the plan, whatever i'm doing it seems to be working. |

congrats BLF and WRR!! :-):-) 6/30/08 -- 189.2 +1.6 since last Monday -24.8 since start i've been living pretty large this summer, food-wise (and otherwise). the only thing that's keeping my weight relatively in check is the amount of exercising i'm getting doing yard work and the like. must. try. harder. Specialized diets, etc., are unnecessary- just get more exercise (as in above post), esp. consistent walking, and say no to the goddam Twinkies and Big Macs... How difficult IS that? PS- ignore the scale, go by the mirro- lean mass weighs nearly twice as much as fat, so if you've lost 4# of fat, but gained 4 # in lean mass, you've still lost 4 fat pounds and gained more critical, healthy tissue....which your scale won't tell you. Don't beat yourself up over weight |

I've tried several other methods in the past, always fell off the the wagon pretty quickly. Nutrisystem works for me, it may not be necessary, but it is working and at the end of the day that's all i care about. |

Used to suck and cut weight for a sport, it ended up whacking my metabolism something fierce. I graduated HS wrestling at 119 my senior year. I have not grown a wit, I am now 259. It is definately more than walking needed, The way I chase my own @ss around the shop trying to get things done, you would think walking would do it.... its just not aerobic enough. the old pedometer says I get 8000 clicks a day, And I havent been in McDonalds in years. Shi@t if it were easy we would all be GQ models, 6ft tall and getting paid to look purdy. |

Hey- badlionsfan- Sorry to break the news to you, but physical conditioning/weight loss is very simple- supply & demand- Cut down the supply (goddam Twinkies and Mickey D's), pump up the demand (walking, bicycling, consitsently, even for short distance/duration), and you'll get into better shape.... No matter who the individual is.... Why do so many require spoonfeeding and a gimmick? Be a man, BBQ some nice lean steaks and chicken, and get off your ass each day for a half-hour...your physical condition will improve

I really fail to see why you care how I live my life, or how I choose to lose weight. Secondly, it's not a gimmick. The program teaches portion control. It works for me. I'm spending less on food than I was before, and the convenience of the portioned meals is a major plus with my 10-12 hrs a day work schedule. I simply don't have the time to cook from scratch every day, which is why the fast food really started piling on the pounds. To each his own I say, something you should consider. |
