The bike came stock with the longer shock. Do you have a shock on the bike now to measure?

Any length shock can be used with the correct mount, btw.

The original shock was a 16. The recall/replacement shock is 14, and uses a different front mount. If you need a 14, I will be posting two for sale after this Saturday. Im selling my bike and have lots of extra parts. The bike is to be picked up Saturday. After it is gone for sure, I plan on selling all my old tube frame parts. Oh, the 97 M2 shock did not have the remote reservior if I remember correctly. You can install one with the remote if you wish. Both of mine have the remote.

Sportbiker87,
I think that was you, I ran into at the gas station there in Las Cruces just off the Interstate a while back. I was heading out to Arizona. Im the old guy riding the Yamaha FJR. We were talking about your bike, and I noticed that your shock was leaking. Small world. Hit me up if you still need a 14 inch shock. If I remember right you had the first edition recall 14 inch on the bike. Get the second edition with the large end. (I think I already suggested that when we spoke). Measure twice, buy once. : )

lol yep that was me, small world indeed.
i took your advice and got on this site.
since its been upgraded to the new shock im sure its going to be the 14 since its riding a lot lower since the shock went out and is measuring at 16 now. also the kickstand rests under the swingarm where it used to rest on the side.

i was going to get an aftermarket shock either from works or progressive, the guys at badlands say the progressive is better for the money. now my concern is would i have to change the mounts for the shock and if the new one would come with replacements or not..

how much are you selling yours for and where?
