...but after this discussion I realized how much I was missing a big plate of Skyline Chili. Well today in the cafeteria in the soup bar, they had chili con carne. Over in the pasta bar they had spaghetti, and the salad bar had shredded cheddar cheese. Doesn't have quite the same, unique taste, but it'll do for now! |

Hey man, I'm with you for that kind of stuff. There's a sandwich place in Pittsburgh, PA that puts coleslaw and fried on the sandwich. I usualy got mine with sirlion beef and an a fried egg, plus the tomato and a little hot sauce. When I moved back home, I found a diner that would serve a "Texas" burger with a fried egg on it and coleslaw and fries on the side. I put it all together and it was close, but no cigar. ...it's been so long... |

We just had Skyline Chili last night for dinner. Love the look you get when you offer someone a 3-way or 4-way! They either love it or hate it. Living in NC now, chili mix, oyster crackers and Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce are always on my grocery list when we visit Cincinnati. |

Mmmmmm, beef, beans, cheese, onions, green peppers, lots of chili sauce and a big side of deep-fried okra. |

They don't have okra at Skyline Chili. More's the pity... |

After doing the Simpson ride at Universal Studios Sunday, and waiting on a bench for the girls to show up, I see popcorn, hot dogs, candy, and drinks in a bunch of booths and i'm thinking, now this is the perfect place for deep fried okra. Yum |

Oh, I know that already. I linked to my MySpace blog on my original posting and that had a link to that site as well as my experiences trying to bring some cans back with me on the plane... |

Jaimec - try the Cincinnati Style Chili packets. They cook up easy, taste good and you can freeze it as well. |

I just spoke to my Texan friend and he sent me an article from a Dallas newspaper that says "Texas Burgers" with an egg are a New York City invention: http://www.dallasnews.com/s/features/food/maindish 2/040905ccdrfoodburgerall.1baf8f6eb.html |
