Woo Hoo! 2800 miles and World Superbike too! SBK at Salt Lake City was great. This was a better time than AMA at Infineon. I'm not joking. (Except for the pleasure of the company of the usual jokers around here). Next year World Supersport will be racing as well (for my $$, the best racing going on right now). I wrote up a ride report on fjrforum which you can view here: http://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic =105329&st=0#entry430882 and all pics can be viewed here: http://s96.photobucket.com/albums/l193/ericsg/2800 %20Miles%20and%20Miller/ Next up, the Flagroom package arrived from Laguna Seca... Is it July yet? |

Jimmy, Yes, you missed me buying an FJR! I was going to wait, but a friend got engaged to a guy at Beaverton Yamaha and he found an '07 with (at the time) 750 miles on it last October. Gave me a screaming deal I couldn't pass up. It now has 4500 miles on it! I still have the Sprint though. I don't think I'll ever not own a Triumph. Bob, yep I'm ready! |

That bitch looks great in black! Crap, now there's another guy I can't keep up with... Beware Bob and his customizing shop... weight reduction is his forte Stopped by Bob's yesterday fer a brew, and besides Big Steve, RocketRon (& wifeie) was there hobbleing around in a most cheerful and seemingly well healing manner. Brilliant! Gota head back to LA next week, as my friend will be gone soon, and he put me incharge of his finial arrangements. I am thinking some explosives may be involved befor it's all over. so if I'm in the news as a terrorist soon you'll know my intentions were of the highest... sooner friends , Galen |

Well I'm in LA again... my friend died this morning. I was holding his hand, telling him every thing is OK... Saturday I hooked up with a couple of youngsters on crazy chopped Suzi's and Sporties... one Pan. Complete hooligans, I scared the hell out of these guys, but we all had fun. And then on Sunday I was on my way to Seattle, and got mixed up with some rice-bike. Ever heard that song, 'hot rod lincoln' " passing cars like they were standing still". We were screamin' along at about a ton, passing cars like they were rocks in the road. I couldn't catch him on the straights, but he couldn't get away from me either. When I had to pull off we gave each other a wave and a nod... Brilliant! See ya all sooner. Should be home Friday... |

I wish I still had my bike... Last Thursday I was in a hurry to get up to Seattle and grabbed too much throttle while letting the clutch out too fast and the bike wheelied out from under me and tumbled down the road. Fortunately it didn't hit anything or anybody, and I didn't get hurt too bad; just fell onto my ass and then rolled a few times. Here's some pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/pauledwards/20080612Bu ell1125RAccident I started trying to repair it myself, but removing the tail plastic revealed a broken tail section frame. I have a low deductible ($250), but my rates will undoubtedly go up. Worst part is that I'm going to be without my 1125R just as we're getting this nice weather... And I'll fall behind on the mileage race... I was among the fore-runners with the highest mileage on the 1125Rs. Have almost 11,000 miles on mine. Bought it Jan 15th. Oh well... Thats terrible ! Sorry to hear of your accident. Good thing you didnt get hurt. How long will it take to get yer Harley out of the shop? I went riding today and it was just great! The sun was shining and it was wonderfull. I'm gonna go riding everyday for the rest of the summer. Hurry up and get that bike back on the road. Come to think of it Rocket Ron has a 1125 he's not using. Maybe you could get some parts off his bike. Just a thought. Joe. |

Galen, you're right.... life is supposed to be about indulging. Indulging in good company, good conversation, good fun, and good friends. Let's do it! I'm now indulging in Mexico:

My bike will probably be in the shop for more than 1 month. Could easily be 2 months.

Howdy Ron ! How are the ankle's doing? Any torn ligaments? Joe. |

Hey Joe! Ankles are doing OK, we are in 'wait and see' mode as far as ligament damage goes. We know there is some damage, we just don't know the extent yet. Probably 2 more weeks before we have a definitive answer. I'm still thinking a December marathon is a possibility. This is what happens when soft muscle tissue collides with a solid object such as a guardrail:
Fun stuff! Cheers all, Ron |

Nice butt Ron! Is that a hospital thong? You look like that cat that ate the canary in that first pic... thanks for taking one for the team. I went over to visit my dead pal's mom yesterday, and in his honor I pulled my first balance-point wheelie down the street we used to play on. It was really fun. So anyway, the sun is tryin', and I'm goin' ridein'. |

We'll probably hafta start callin' ya "The Black Streak" Harv. Well, I'll continue to carry the Tuber Buell Standard ... can't afford anything else ... onward as to war, stand beside them, and guide them, er,-burp- where was I ?... oh yea... So when ya commin' home Ron, huh? When... soon? You must be getting sick of the monotonous weather, all the food tasting the same... only one kind a beer. And the construction of your hotel room looks like it might not be up to code, so be extra careful; it is a foreign country after all. I'd hate to get the news that you had been sacrificed to the local JuJu! |

Galen, I'll be home maƱana. I've spent most all of my time outdoors, even sleeping, so bulding codes be damned. Here's a photo of Poncho loading supplies for the Villa:
And the food don't look so bad:
I'll miss my new friends here in Mexico. Cheers! Ron |
