I am a first time owner and rider. I am in the process of buying a 2000 cyclone from my nephew. The bike has sat about a year we drained the tank cleaned the plugs and replaced the battery it will start but you let off of the throttle it dies. My nephew has been messing with a adjusting knob on the right side of the tank but he has no clue as to what he is doing and neither do i. If anyone cane help i would be very greatful. |

Joseph You are probably going to need to clean the carburetor. The nob is the idle adjust. Joe |

The idle knob raises the idle clockwise and decreases it counterclockwise. Just hold the throttle at a decent idle and turn it in clockwise till it increases then let off throttle and procede to adjusting it properly. And make sure you get a maint. manual (Buell). (The idle knob is located on the right side near the carb). It also could be a contaminated or plugged low spd. circuit. I always hope it is an easy fix. |

Sounds like a plugged pilot jet. Easy fix, you just have to pull the carb and remove the float bowl, then clean the jets with carb cleaner. There's an S1 service manual in the KV that should have enough info for you to do the job. rt |
