Installed the Millennium 1250 big bore kit om my 2000 M2.Had about 4000 miles on the kit all seemed well.We for a ride down south,rode all day long between 80 -90 mph.Before the ride,I was about a quart low between oil changes.There was also no noticeable oil coming out of my crankcase vent.I rode my bike to Sturgis and ended up putting a quart in every 300 miles,with oil noticeable coming out the crankcase vent tube-blowing all over my fender!I called both millennium,total seal,and Brian Nallins.There is aggreement as to a problem,but the cause is yet unknown.Im going to have a leak and compression test done,then see what needs to happen.I will have to send the cylinders in,also the rings to determine what is wrong,if it isnt noticable after taking the top end apart.I never had a bit of problem with the stock set up,but bought this set up because it was supposed to LAST!Is anyone else had this kind of problem with the millennium set-up?I am wondering if maybe the solution is to keep the pistons,over bore the stock cylinders and use different(maybe stock) rings?Maybe this is just a fluke,but I dont want to keep going thru this !The bad part is ,kinda hard to ride when your bikes torn apart!

LOL...a quart in a car that takes 6 may not be that bad, but in a motorcycle that only takes 2.5? Not a good idea at all.

In my opinion, you will find problems inside.Are those cylinders aluminum with steel liners? A loose or cracked liner could be bleeding oil and combustion pressure. Those fancy rings could give you trouble if they were not sized correctly.Low oil level should not increase oil consumption,unless it gets so low the oil pump starts sucking air or the remaining oil gets fried.and no longer can do its lube job.

VR1203, the Millenium cylinders are all aluminum, no liner. There used to be rather poor quality control when they were called AAC. In some cases, they were so porous that oil leaked through the cylinder walls. I understand that the quality is quite good now.

Richie, are you burning any oil or just breathing all of that out of the crankcase breathers? That's a lot of oil to vent out. I'm not sure why problems with cyclinders, wrings, heads, etc would cause excess venting? Maybe oil is not flowing back down via the pushrod tubes? I crushed valve stem seals on mine & burned a lot of oil. Easy fix. But, that did not effect venting in any way.

Poor ring seal would cause excessive blowby thus venting and burning a lot of oil. Isn't Millenium a different manufacturer than AAC?

Its not burning any oil,and it was using about a 1/2quart every 2500 miles.I changed the oil after my ride down south,thats when i noticed it was blowing oil.It seems to be just coming out the vent in the head,that holds the carb.on.,i ran a hose from there to a catch can,then out under my back fender.I can now see oil blowing against the underside of the fender coming out of the hose.

OPPS in my original post,I meant to say I was about 1/2 quart low between oil changes!!Before my ride down south.

Blake, If I recall correctly AAC sold to Millenium? Quality improved drastically.

I believe they are the same people(as AAC) they just got rid of George and got someone else to make the cylinders for the company(now Millenium).

Of course I am blonde and as such will certainly use that as a defense against any discrepencies in my story.

So what are the best cylinders out there? Bar none...Millenium,Axtell,Hyperformance,Zippers, S&S,is there more?Cast iron ,aluminum coated,aluminum with cast iron liners,billet titaninum:)?What works and holds up in extreme conditions?

I use Millenium without any problems on my 88CI
but i use the rings that came with the Wiseco's.
On several engines i built including dragbikes i used the total seal rings finding out that their
oil rings aren't that good , so i guess you ran into the same problem , bad oil rings.
