I have a 07 Ulysses with the stock seat. There is a definite forward bias to the seat that becomes a real pain on a long ride. The front forks could be pushed down about 1/2" further into the triple trees. This along with a step or two lower on the rear spring preload should get rid of the forward tilt to the seat. Has anyone tried this? Is there a better solution? Thanks | ||

I hate the 07 seat for that reason. Are you height challenged? If not, try the 06 or 06 low seat. It is much better at keeping you from tank humping. Pushing the front forks up will affect the handling substantially. | ||

Scud, You need to read a little more closely. I can reach the ground. I want fix the problem of sliding forward in the 07 seat. The 07 seat is angled downward. Thanks so much for your suggestion anyways, OD | ||

I bought a corbon carbon right after I got the bike for a trip to the dragon. Once we got into the twisties I found out the the wife and I both slid to and fro as well as side to side. The seat was too slick to ride safely. I stopped a a roadside bike shop and bought two rubber buckle guards/tank protectors for a crotch rocket (the transparent winged type) and stuck them on the seat. Problem solved. Although only a temporary solution, no more sliding and made it through the trip just fine. I have seen spencer's seats before, and I would consider that as a more permanent solution. | ||

I had this problem on my 08. Per the suggestion of a badwebber, I rotated the handlebars back 1-2" (actually, the dealer did it for me gratis). That REALLY helped me and the cost was $0! There is a limit to how far you can go with this, though. Before you tighten them down, make sure that the handlebars stay clear of the air box covers on each side. | ||

The problem is the seat itself. In order to help shorter folks to reach the ground more easily, they trimmed the width area at the front of the seat as reduced some of the upward saddle angle at the front. This makes it harder not to get sucked into this lower, narrower area toward the front. Ride on that area long enough and your balls go to sleep. If you don't need the additional length to reach the ground, there are better choices. I liked the 06 low seat better than the stock seat. The seams in the 06 seat cut into my legs and the material made it hard to slide off the seat (it was a very coarse nylon cover). The 06 low seat is gel and covered with pleather that is slicker than the stock seat. Add a little Honda Polish and it get down right slippery.  I would also post up in BBD that you are looking for a seat and check in the Classified area. | ||

I love the '06 stock seat. I have had no issues with it. I find that my knees give out long before my backside. | ||

This thread was about seats right? I'm about to go put my '06 low on to ride into town for some banking business, materials pick up, and lunch. It is nicer for those stop light, around town rides for me. |
