Well I am sad to report that I have sold by beloved Buell Uly today. My girlfriend and I are preparing for a "ride around the world" and needed a bike that is just a little more capable for extended off road traveling. I purchased a new KTM 990 adventure (very sweet ride) I wanted to thank all of you for making the Buell experience so wonderfull. this website totally rocks and the people here are 1st class, full of friendly people who just want to enjoy owning one of the best made machines ever made. I was able to log 29,900 trouble free miles on my 06 orange Uly. I rode it to Canada and Mexico. Enjoyed many weekend get aways to Tahoe with my girlfriend, and always enjoyed spanking a few sport bikes on highway 9 in Santa Cruz, CA. Thanks again everyone, ride safe. Your friend Graham D. p.s. I will be back.....

p.s. I will be back..... You don't have to leave. Owning a Buell is not a requirement for being on the board. If you find the BW valuable, stick around. (I'd be interested in reading your comparison of the KTM vs Uly once you've had a chance to spend some time on it.) |

Congrats and good luck on your new ride. Hopefully it'll treat you as well as the Uly did. Keep us posted. |

What's your plan? When are you leaving? How long? Are you posting a trip report somewhere? Two up or two bikes? That is quite an adventure. Take us along! |

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Our plan is to leave for South America in exactly two years. why two years? well a trip like this is gonna cost a ship load of cash so we need some time to save. I bought the new KTM now so that I will have time to pay it off and also to get to know it and get it set up the way I want. We are planning on being gone for over a year but that will all matter on how much money we can save and how quickly we spend it. our goal is to save 20K. We are working on creating a web site and will also post a report on advrider.com. we will be ridding 2-up on the 990adv. when I get the website up I will for shure share it with you guys. |

While I LOVE my Uly and will soon hit 50K miles, I've glanced at the big KTM from time to time. Please post your impressions of it sometime. No hurry. |

Fantastic plan, Graham. While you're at it, mind sharing the name of the planet on which you found such an accomodating girlfriend? In all seriousness, enjoy the new ride - and the trip! |

Graham, what an adventure! Sold a Suzuki DL1000 to a friend that is on a trip to South America. Started out to be a trip of six months but that was in September 2006. Check out his web page. http://www.dmotorider.com/ |
