Great article in July issue of Motorcyclist on Erik Buell's beginnings. " 25 years of Buellishness " Would not mind meeting him sometime. Anyone going to the 25 year bash? |

Actually, I just looked at my schedule...and I'm free. I can ride Chariot of the dogs out Friday-Sunday. Anyone have any recommendations on where to stay last minute? |

Anyone have any recommendations on where to stay last minute? You've got four more days to reserve a room at the host hotel! I'll be there the nights of the 2nd and 3rd. Tipsy |

Thanks for the heads up, Tipsy. I just registered and reserved my room. Look for the freakish Uly with the dog carrier. Now, I just need appropriate recommendations for a suitable watering hole... |

That's easy: The Boiler Room is the watering hole of choice. It's Bads1's place. |

I'll be there, possibly dragging a non-Buelling friend in tow. Erik's an awesome guy, you can tell he has a true passion for what he does. I was very fortunate to meet and speak with him a couple times since I bought my bikes. |

A trip to homecoming is the best way I can think of to convert a non-Bueller......except for some seat time on a Buell. I've never met a better group of people to hang out with and I LOVE my (trying on a new name) Franken-bolt. Hopefully the enthusiasm rubs off on your friend. |

He loves my bikes (though he's only ridden the Blast, not the Firebolt), and the looks of the Firebolts in particular. Right now he's got a '96 Katana 600 that he picked up dirt-cheap (from another of my friends that I got into riding a few years ago) as a 'beater' bike. He's got a good head on his shoulders and is handling the step up in power and step down in handling from my Blast well thus far. He's got the bug bad already, so we'll see if a year or two and a more stable financial outlook (he's a high school teacher in Michigan - double whammy) will allow me to convert him completely. |
