Bartimus, Thanks for the heads-up about Wheelsport, I will head up to Mesilla and check them out. Barnett has just about fired the whole service department, it's to bad because they did have 2 mechanics that liked Buells better than Harleys. Of course he has 400 bikes on the showroom floor and 8 of them are Buells. That makes him dedicated dealer,right!? Maybe Eric should have sold out to Ford or somebody. I would rather see my bike parked next to a Mustang, or for you Chevy guys(Dan) a Vette, than buried in the back with the dust bunnies and dead old Harleys. And heaven help us if they were to actually have a true sportbike section with helmets, spine protectors etc. on display. But then again Harley riders around here don't need helmets, shirts, or anything else we sportbike weenies wear. Dean | ||

Has anyone put upsd, inverted forks on an m2 cyclone? how did it work and were their any problems? | ||

Inverted forks on an M2, Yeah, it's called an S3! Sounds like all you would need are the triple trees, inverted forks and front fender. Buck | ||

You'll need headlight mounts as well due to the different diameter of the tube ends, or just use an S1 or X1 screen and display/gauge assembly. | ||

I can't believe they all haven't died off all by themselves.They were another poor model for Ford along with the Festiva,Fiesta,etc. Jim, actually the Festiva was a great little car. I bought one the first year they came out 1988. The car was designed by Mazda & built by Kia. I put over 100,000 miles on it in a couple years & the only thing I ever did was change oil & replace tires & brake pads. Had 2 buddies who also bought them, same deal as me, however 1 of them did end up needing new bearings on the rear axle, we replaced them at work with no problem. The Fiesta was a pos, but I will defend the Festiva. Great car for $7000. | ||

Yes Kia was around back then. They were a new company & nobody here in the states had heard of them yet. Remember also Ford has had several partnerships with various companies throughout the years. Dont they even have some deal with Jaguar right now? Hell, might even own them for all I know. Ford & Mazda used to be pretty tight, several cars were produced for Ford by them. | ||

Here you go, just click on Ford and you'll see all sorts of affiliations: Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, LandRover, Aston Martin. Yes, both Volvo and Aston Martin are under the Ford banner. There is more under the truck banner. GM has Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, EV1, GMC, Holden, HUMMER, Oldsmobile (but going bye bye), Opel, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, Vauxhaul. Conglomeration is the name of the game. Spread your risk over a larger product margin and give the buying public a seemingly wider choice. | ||

I just looked up the history of Kia. They were established in 1944, mainly built bicycles, small trucks & motorcycles up until the 70's. They partnered with Ford in 1986 to begin production of the festiva & have had several other affliations with other manufacturers since then. | ||

Jose, Sounds to me like the fuel pump is going. I had the same exact problem on my S3T '00 around 10k miles ago. New pump fixed the problem. Regarding O2 Sensor, I am one of those "jump on it and ride it types", checking only the oil and air in the tires. I get all the checkups at the right time, but don't worry about much else. Maybe that is why, other than the pump, it has been a rock solid bike for me. Ride it like a stole it. However, on the CA BRAG Ride it did not like the high altitudes...at 17K miles, I had never changed the Sensor. So, I popped another in and what a difference. Maybe I should crack the service manual more often. Scott | ||

Dear friends, I've not found the right place in the "knowledge vault" to post this question, therefore the general discussion board : I'd like to protect my Buell M2 against a possible slow sliding and associated damages especially on the right side of the bike. Does anybody know of a provider of engine guards for our Buell ? I do not speak about heavy-duty engine guards but about those equipped with small "skate-board" wheels, which are fitted to race bikes. The ideal model would fit straight to the frame tubes, next to the engine "V", with a kind of clamp to handle the 29-mm frame tube diameter. Your hints would be greatly appreciated. | ||

Well it's been quite some time I know, but I hope you all remember who I am, he he !!! It's really been a rough year for me as I'm sure you may have gathered, but hey, things are on the up. I've not had a great deal of luck this year. It seems that every corner of my life has a 'situation', but hey, it's not the end of the world, not yet anyway. This past few weeks I've been wanting to return to Badweb and get the feel for the place again. My spirits have been revitalised and I'm feeling much more like my old self again (I always liked feeling myself) and I've wanted to meet up with friends old and new in the Badweb house, but it seems at every opportunity something at the last minute has turned up, and therefore prevented me from joining you all. This may well have been a relief to some of you!! Ah yes you see, I still have a sense of humour. I've not said much about things Buell too, but to be honest it's not been much of a Buell year for me. I've not wanted to go to far into any detail about my S1W because I'm in tentative negotiations with certain folks over the state of my Buell. It had been my intention, after I'd posted those pics of myself riding my Buell earlier this year, to report back and tell you all of how fantastic things were, and share with you some of the 'modifications' that I'd done and was going to do, but sadly that's not possible. At this moment in time the S&S conrod is poking rather rudely out the back of the crankcases and believe me, it is a real freekin mess. The motor is much destroyed. I've not touched it at all (for reasons I don't want to go into now) so I can only go by what I can see. Yep, it is a real mess, no exaggeration, and when it happened, like a few days before my birthday back in July, I just felt like throwing in the towel where Buell is concerned. Of course, this is no solution, but a broken Buell is as good as no Buell at all. I don't think it will see the road again this year either, which is no real suprise to me because I've only had one full summer of riding my Buell in four years of ownership. It's funny really because I've pushed the thing nearly as far as I've ridden it. Ok, I'm a sucker for running out of gas !!!!!!! Has it left a bitter taste in my mouth ? Not with the bike really, even if I do moan about it, but the truth is, it is still the best bike on the planet in my opinion. Would I buy something different ? Yes I would, that's if I could ever have such a thing as a budget again, I'd probably buy a 916 \996 \ 998. Keeping the Buell of course ! See, it's that V-twin thing again and the looks too. Anyways, forget sour grapes there's always next year where my Buell is concerned, I hope anyway !!!! Ah yes, that leads nicely back to this year. So only a matter of weeks to the Hallowed Salt Fest which is Bonneville, and that my good friends is the best Buell thing that will happen this year, anywhere in the world period, and thanks to you lot I'll be there. I'm in possesion of my flight tickets and providing Friday the 13th provides no dramas, which it won't (trust me), I'll be touching down in Denver CO. sometime around who knows when. I'll be bringing my Streetfighter lid too and hopefully, if I can sort things out, I'll be running in the 150 Club with it on my skull. Last year was awesome and this year will be better still and I'm so looking forward to the whole thing. Now wish me well and welcome me back to the Badweb because I feel ready to engage once again. Oh yeah, nearly forgot, not that I approve of this sort of exhibitionist thing but here is the source of my distraction..........  Perhaps now you will understand Rocket | ||
