it's gone... and boy am I glad. I think it looks 1000x better. It still needs painted and the bracket needs some cleaning up (little grinding here and there, etc.) Overall I am very pleased with the results. I am planning on painting it and the sub-frame to match the rest of the frame.

It's really nice how the stock tail light has a clear section already in it, I just cut out a little extra to expose this area and my plate gets lit up without adding any special light! I think the whole project took about 3.5 hours *** And sorry, I meant to post this in the KV under 'Do it yourself' but I guess this works too. That was the only thing I disliked about the Lighting. That looks much much better. |

Am I the only one who likes the stock tail? To me, the bikes looks even stubbier and smaller without it. |

Very nice, your lines look clean.I did the same and am definitely happy with it.I think they look better without the Xtra metal hangin over the tire. |

It can look a little stuby, but I just love how the back tire looks more Xposed,I also have a cowl on mine and chopin the tail makes the lines match a bit more. |

They do look shorter, but that's kinda what I like about it. I think it has much cleaner lines now. **They do have a 52 inch wheelbase, kinda hard to hide the stubbieness** Also, I usually ride with the cowl but I took it off because I'm about to get the spec. ops exhaust and I wanted to see what I would be up against in installing it. Feel free to use what I did for a bracket, that's what the close-ups were for. Rocky (Message edited by jrockne on June 07, 2008) (Message edited by jrockne on June 07, 2008) |

Am I the only one who likes the stock tail? To me, the bikes looks even stubbier and smaller without it. I do like it too and I'm not planing to take it off my future 08. There is in some case where I think it does look good without it too like if you put the extra spacers to raise the tail for some reason it seem to look better without and also it all depends on what kind of replacement you use, there is one the is more pointy then the others and with this one plus the spacers it does look very sexy without |

The only time I like it is when there's a huge rear tire. |

I kept mine. I don't like how short the bike looks with my 6' on top. Plus, anymore, it's more original to leave it on. lol |

The insert was silver, it also holds the wire for the plate light, so it was easiest to take it off before cutting. Some like it on, some like it off. Personally, I just think the grater/fender looked ridiculous on there and ever since I saw the first pic of someone with it chopped I wanted to do it as well. |

Not only do I like the the grater, I want to some day replace mine with the TT's grater. The one with the solid insert. On Edit: For some reason the first part of my post didn't make it. It went something like: Nice job on the grater elimination. Getting rid of the tail section isn't my cup of tea but I appreciate good workmanship when I see it (Message edited by metalstorm on June 07, 2008) |

You're going to love running through mud and standing water, now. yes, just as I would with the fender on... It really didn't help much in the rain I was looking for a cool face, and this one just needs to be shown more often |
