Several years ago there were some that looked like the old three spoke tuber wheels but IIRC the front was $2k and the rear was $2.5K. At this point that's more than I could get for the whole bike. They would be a tremendous weight savings though. There was also a rear sub frame that replaced the cast aluminum on the X1's. Man I love carbon, it's just so dang expensive. Found it, says it was available from Trojan Horse. Hmmm. Can't upload a pic in edit mode, check next post. (Message edited by Kyrocket on June 03, 2008) |

I just don't think I could bring myself to run Carbon wheels on the street. XB wheels are light... |

I couldn't run carbon wheels 'cause my wallet is too light! Yeah Chase I heard something about Trojan either going out or changing names or something. I must not have been paying much attention. I found the pic in an old link I had to the X1 files. Let me know if you want it. I'm just wondering where a person would put all the electricals that are normally under the seat? |

There's a Sacramento dealer for BST had some at the last Cycle World show in San Mateo. I asked them about Buells, it seems they had a pair made for XB's only but discontinued a long time ago. He said they don't currently make anything for Buells. Only the Dymag wheels, and yes, they're about $2K each. I was not convinced about CF wheels, until the BST guy handed me one. These wheels weigh like 2 pounds, it was just breathtakingly un-believable. I would have bought a pair on the spot, if they'd made them for M2's, even $2K each. But they don't. I still might by the Dymags, though. They are just so cool. |

That stinks. The Dymags look like a$$ IMO compared to the BSTs. If I were planning on C/F wheels, I think I would try and find a way to retrofit these wheels from another model. |

It looks very doable, if you had a machine shop. They just change the center hub mounts, that's the only difference. |

"These wheels weigh like 2 pounds" The rear not so, but an XB front runs really close to that. REALLY close. Did they have brake rotors on them? I've seen super-light wheels for Jap-bikes that still weighed more than Buell stuff once the rotors were on 'em... |
