Picked up an '00 M2 last week. 7 thou. miles. Service records indicate regular oil changes. The tranny fluid that came out today was the vilest gray poopon I have ever seen! Does old Sport-trans fluid look like that normaly? And the primary chain had way more than 1/2" slack. Is there a silver lining? |

There's probably a lot of moisture built up in the fluid - had the bike been ridden regularly before you bought it? New fluid and a quick primary chain adjustment and you should be good to go. |

Doh! But of course! The bike wasnt ridden at all last year. I adjusted the primary chain per manual but I gotta get an "O" ring before I add the new fluid. Thanks. |

Just reuse the O-ring. Unless you wreck it, it will work several oil changes. |

I had gotten water in mine a few times with the same results. Never could figure out exactly how it was getting in but after I changed both cover gaskets (o-ring) and moved my cable adjuster boot down over the crimp (a topic in the KV) I didn't have that problem again. I just learned to check the oil anytime I'd ridden in hard rain. |

Natexlh1000-"O" ring was knarled up pretty good in one section. Coulda put it in at 12 oclock and tried my luck..... |

You should probably verify proper transmission vent hose routing, while you're there. I would probably change oil, get a good 20 mile ride in, and change it again just to get the residual water out, too. |
