I was in Ames, Iowa Saturday to help clean up after the big flood, so I stopped at Zylstra H-D for a test ride and get a hydration pack. I asked to ride the 1125, but I was told I couldn't. They gave me a Uly to ride instead. I must say, after getting used to the tippy-toe stops, it was a very enjoyable ride. When I got back, I told Sales Associate Mike that they might sell some 1125s if they'd let people test ride them. After talking to the GM, he wheeled the lone 1125 outside and I got to take it on their loop. The 1125 was very nice....the engine was a bit noisy, and it doesn't have the off-idle torque of the old engines. What surprised me was that IF I was to buy something that day, it would have been the Uly. I think the Uly is now on my watch list. I was hoping to visit with Tim (No_Rice), but he must've had the day off....probably out riding. |

Hey John- I beginning to wonder if Tim really works there, he wasn't around when I stopped by either. I concur on the Uly too. At first I was thinking of the 1125 but after riding in Idaho last summer I'm thnking the adventure stuff may be up my alley. Are you thinking about going to Homecoming? I was planning on riding up to Minneapolis to meet Bluz M2 and then heading over to Milwaukee. Iowa Mike |
