Well I found out what happened to my Stator. The bolts that attach the Rotor the the Sprocket sheared off, stuck to the magnets and ripped up the Stator. I'm sure that some of these bits also screwed up my Primary Chain and are happily residing in the tranny as well. Anyway, the bike is in Deeley's House of Buell and they always do great stuff so I'm sure I'll see you all at Border Raid. Guess who found the clipart. Bib |

Ok...For anyone interested: I just reserved a room at the Crytal Lodge. A loft with two twin beds upstairs and a queen size down stairs. Galen has dibs on the bed upstairs, (Galen confirm this with me) I'll take the other. That leaves the queen for two other who don't mind sharing a bed who are too drunk for it to matter. As an option, I recall that there is a couch in that lower room as well (But I'm not absolutely certain) The cost is 166.00 Canadian plus tax. I'm hoping four of us can split the cost. Any who are interested, claim your spot. |

Stu, Jim, and I met last night for a great ride around Fort Langley on roads Jim and I didn't know existed. What a HOOT! We have been examing routes for a longer ride, with an over-night in Kelowna, to showcase some of the absolute best roads that BC has to offer, and the plan we came up with goes as follows: Leave Whistler a little earlier, meet at 8am, depart at 9 sharp. Coffee and gas at Lillouette (rather than lunch). From there to Lytton, up #1 to Spense's Bridge, then across to Merritt for lunch. From Merritt, those with tender butts can take the freeway to Kelowna, our over-night stay. There is also the option of taking the Coldwater Road, parallel to the Coquihalla, which may have a mile to two of gravel at the end, pay the toll, and freeway home to Vancouver. Those wanting more twisties will go from just west of Merritt up to Logan Lake, across to Kamloops, down the Barnardville road to Vernon, then the Westside Road to WestBank, and double back a couple of miles to Kelowna. Monday, we have before us the Green Mountain road, from Penticton to Oliver, then to Osoyoos, then either home through the States for those who hail from there, or back on the Old Hedley Road, then the Hope-Princeton, or maybe even up from Princeton to Aspen Grove, and back over the Duffy Lake although that would be pretty amibitious. A concern was whether anyone has already made reservations in Osoyoos (Bob?), or could they be cancelled? The route proposed would be well worth the doing. I'll try to get a map posted and I'll tally the miles involved later tonight. We think the short route would have people in Kelowna about 5pm while the long route (the fun stuff) would have us done by about 8. More later. |

Rick, thanks for the heads-up about the RS. As a matter of fact, I think a 2002 Sprint RS is in my near future. I hope I don't have to go all the way to L.A. to get it, but I'm not above taking a few days off of work and making a road trip. BTW, Lyle is pretty serious about getting a '02 Speed 3. All: How hard (i.e. how expencive?) is it to undo whatever it is that makes a bike a "California" model? Or does it really matter? the EPA |

Sportyeric- Bob, Debbie, Mike and Matt won't be back to town until sometime on Monday (late). I know we already have reservations, I think the same place Chris and Lonnie do, but I am not sure? All of them are at Donner so by the time they get back hopefully you should have all the nitty gritty details about the extended ride. Sounds fun, interested to hear more and how a newby would hold up coming from Portland OR? All spots are taken for the room I reserved at Whistler. And of course if anyone gets stuck with out a place to stay, there is always room on the floor. Galen, Sorry I did not hear from you so I'm afraid I gave your spot to Duane. Please don't hit me! Sportyeric, New route sounds great. I would be surprized if anyone has made reservation in Oysuyos yet. Should we make reservations in Kelowna? Or is there enough facilities there for it not to be a problem? |

Stu is going to be in Kelowna for Sportbikewest next weekend and will scout out the hotel situation. I may be there at the same time and do the same. You'all better get on it to book in Whistler, though, if you haven't already. Kimberlie: The first section is just a freeway drone to Vancouver. I don't know how you guys cover the distance but you don't have to be in Vancouver 'til mid-day Saturday, so I presume you stop halfway up. Maybe not. I have found in hte past that there's a lot of stopping and diddling about, getting a Gatorade or enjoying the scenery, and that we haven't been putting on the miles as we do at SPLASH. We're hoping to cover a little more ground this time. There is probably going to be a slower group, and probably a short-route group. But the intervals between towns is about 60 miles each time so it's not too tough on the butt. I'm still searching for a map. If anyone knows how to find and post one here, feel free. |
