Put a Jardine RT-1 on my Uly last night. Awesome sound, way lighter, and no other changes needed to be made to make it run perfect. Stock air filter, stock ECM, no exhaust power valve cable either. Pulled it right off the bike. No computer errors, same smooth power delivery and probably a few more ponies. Who can ask for more? I took some pics along the way if anyone is interested...  | ||

that's the same pipe I've just bought for my XT! I also had one on my city-X and it worked great, although I had to run a race ECM to clear up the backfiring on the XB9. Glad to hear it runs without a hitch, Brakes. How many miles on your bike? I was wondering if I would have to modify the ECM to run mine when I installed it. Also, what did you do about the chin fairing mounts? I'm going to weld a small bracket from the front mount out to the chin fairing... | ||

I do get a little backfiring sometimes but it depends on what rpm I close the throttle at and how fast but I kinda like the sound! Reminds me of the old BoTT days! As for the fairing, all the brackets, nuts, bolts, etc were included and fit near perfect...The 2 bolts that fastened to the front of the muffler are just nutted on the inside for strength but don't attach to any thing. It's pretty solid once installed.     | ||

Well, I've got mine installed now, it sounds nice, but I'm getting a bit of hesitation right off the line, and the back-firing is annoying. I'm going to see what I can do with ECMspy to resolve the backfiring issue, and then work on the hesitation.  | ||

Yeah, the backfiring is starting to get on my nerves a little. I find myself trying to stay out of certain rpm ranges to avoid it. I don't have a hesitation though... | ||

I took care of ALL decel popping issues in my Race Pipe by adding fuel to closed throttle cells (bottom two rows) within the RPM trouble areas. ECM Spy is an unbelievable tool! | ||

Max, did you notice any funky AFV skew after adding fuel?? I did the same thing with great results, except AFV dropped a bit, and when operated for long periods in overrun (or descending a hill) it ran poorly. ...Brakes, sorry for the hijack. | ||

No, I didn't notice anything strange at all. I have tried a lot of ECM tweaks...but for me the original race map with a little extra fuel at the bottom (to get rid of the decel popping) works best for me. Nothing I have tried has changed that 'ole 3000 rpm surge. Now back to the topic.... The Jardine setup looks great Brakes! | ||

Thanks. It was relatively painless to install and I'm happy with the look for sure. Next up is the race ecm and K&N filter. So what needs to be done to install the ecm? Does the battery need to be disconnected? Will the bike start right back up after install? I'm new to all this.... | ||

I have never disconnected the battery when I changed out the ecm, but it never hurts either. You will need a TPS reset after changing the ecm. So either drive to the dealer, swap ecm's in their parking lot, and have them do the tps reset...or download ecm spy, buy the cable, and do it yourself...or find someone in your area that has the software and ask them to help you. | ||

I'm not sure I would like that. I've had one set of those bolts snap the heads right off. I then put grade 5 bolts in. Then the recall came out and I had that done but the bolts looked the same as the original ones that snapped. I couple weeks later I noticed the kick-stand was getting loose so I put grade 5 bolts back in with lock-tight. The recall bolts were bent and near the point of snapping again..... I check the stand often now and the grade 5 bolts are holding up good for the last year or so. Maybe that bracket won't make much difference but I would keep a close eye on the kick-stand to make sure it stays tight. BC Steve | ||

Maximum, I've got an '08 and have been unsuccessful at remapping my ECM without getting error codes.  Air density sensor shorted, etc.. They won't clear when I reset the trouble codes, but they go away when I reload the stock map. My stock map is all over the place, it doesn't look nice like the demo map that comes with the software. Do you have any screen shots of your maps?   | ||
