i have a spot on the front of my 99 S-3 fuel tank that needs fixing... from the search, i havent found anything that will actually stick to the tank plastic.. some say jb weld and others have had it fail.. is there anything that will be a reliable fix? | ||

i havent a clue... i dont know what kind of plastic these things are made of... i took a dremel tool to the thing and it melts to look at it good... kind of like trying to glue a plastic bucket.. | ||

Forget the home remedies,take it to an auto body repair shop and have the plastic "welded." Shouldn't cost over 5 or 10 bucks tops. | ||

+1 Plastic welding is the way to go. There will be no bonding agent involved to get affected by the fuel, they literally melt the plastic back together. Ive had it done to a couple of farrings... if done right it will be as good as new. | ||

There's a product called Plastic surgery. It's made by Dominion Sure Seal LTD. It comes in different mixes. I use XRF 4006 rigid filler. It works on plastic radiator tanks, battery cases, composit head lamps. It's a two part epoxy. |
