I finally found what I have been looking for! After months of looking it showed up for sale in my backyard. 2005 Ducati 999 4500 miles, Termi exhaust, race chip, open basket clutch, Ohlins damper... the guy really tricked it out. And wouldn't you know it, rain here today. (Fritz, this is why I did not buy your 2003 I have been negotiating with the guy that long.) My garage looks awesome, two of the best looking bikes in the world imho! Take care all I'm going to go clean my toys. (By the way are Ducatis' allowed at Buelltoberfest? Chris

Molto Bella!! I had my first Italian when I was 17, loved them ever since! Don't sell your Buell right away, OK? (Italian girls can be just a bit high strung.) |

I am one of the few who actually like the looks of the 999! Beautiful bike, I would love to have one next to my Buell too (I am too old to ride a bike like that as an only bike - the list of cramps would be long)! PS more pics please! (Message edited by scott_in_nh on May 23, 2008) |

Congrats!! I wasn't a huge fan of the 999 when it first launched, but my brother-in-law bought one new back in '03 and it has grown on me. The '05 updates (engine, red frame, black wheels, front fairing, etc.) were a big help. Oddly enough, I seem to like the 999 better now that the 1098 is here. Any chance you'll disclose the price for us?

I have always loved the 999 and looked for quite a while, I was just home at lunch drooling and looking at the threatening skies trying to figure out if I was going to play hookie for the afternoon. I paid $8,600. for the bike, less than half retail. Chris |

Guy out here in SoCal showed up for a group Buell ride with a 999. Had some nice bits like the exhaust. Picked it up a guy he was doing work for instead of cash. I think the work he did for the guy was around $4500. |

sharp looking bike, i just hope this doesn't become an epidemic with everyone buying a duc or there gonna have to call it buellcatifest instead. i don't blame you for picking it up for that price. |

I have a friend thats selling a 04 999 S. It has full exhaust plenty of carbon fiber. He wants 12 grand not a penny less. The kicker is the bike has 400 some miles on it. |

I love that on one hand you have Ducati, pure italian grace, beauty, and speed. Then you have Buell, raw, unbridled, american muscle. I could not have gone to further extents. Now if I could just ride the damn thing!! |

Call me strange but I'd take that 999 over a 1098 any day. B-E-A-UTIFUL! |

Isn't that the bike Ducati included a free chiropractor session??? |

It's not a chiropractor i need. It's Ben-Gay for the SORE leg muscles days afterward. |

Its comfortable up to about two straight hours, but then again whose license can afford more than two hours at the speed this thing runs. And I thought my Buell liked to be driven hard, this 999 loves to be beat! Chris |
