Anyone tried the Air Flow Guide Kit?
Does it help?
I read the thread about heat on the right thigh and all the fixins . . .
Just wondered if this kit might work?

It helps a noticeable amount. You can help it more by sealing the plastic pieces to the frame using aluminum HVAC tape. I also moved my rear brake reservoir out from under the seat which provides a much larger path for air flow out of the right deflector.

I made at least as big an improvement on my bike by applying aluminum HVAC tape to the inside of the frame around the rear cylinder head. It really cut down the heat transfer to the right side of the frame.

An even better product would be the adhesive backed heat barrier product (made for insulating firewalls and floorboards on hot rods and other cars). A couple of recent threads show this stuff.

I installed the Air Flow Guide kit last week and love it. I was stuck in stop and go city traffic for 35 miles at 101 degrees(the lanes were to narrow to split) and never did roast my leg. I have also installed a heat shield to the inside of the frame and used Aluminumized tape on the underside of the seat. seems to be working just great.
Hughlysses, good tip on moving the brake reservoir, Ill try that.

The only difference i noticed with the kit was that the seat got hotter.

+1 on hot seat, FWIW I replaced the 07 with an 06 seat and if you have inseam to spare, it seems to reduce the bun-warmer affect as well....

Desmo & 911- see old thread here showing my mods:

I just looked at where the brake reservoir is mounted on my S3 and did something similar. Since this thread, I added the aluminum tape under the seat and inside the frame which also made a big difference.

FWIW, I recently fitted the airflow kit to my '06 Uly. Apart from tidying up the gaps, my right thigh still gets hot!!!!! Purely a cosmetic mod in my humble opinion.

I'm telling you two low tech sheets of aluminum foil makes all the difference in the world. Paint them flat black on the outside and nobody will see them through the gaps. Check out the heat management threads from about a year or so back for pics.

I fried on the trip to the wall in 06, but not any more.
