the other day I went across the street from my office to the store without my helmet and heard something wierd. The front brakes seem to rub on and off while the fron tire is moving. Is this normal and if I need new pads what kind do I go for.

Rub on and off? Possible bent rotor? Do you have brakes one min. and then the lever goes to the floor and then you can pump them back up??

As far as what kinds of pads we usually put EBC's on bikes...but I work @ a metric shop...

Sometimes brake dust gets into the mounting hardware and prevents the rotor from completely "floating" causing one part to brush past the pad as it rotates.

I work to clean out the mounting points occasionally to prevent dust build up.

I doubt that it's a bent or warped rotor. There are more rumors of warpage than actual occurrences.

I would switch from stock to either EBC or Lyndall's pads.
