Wildcard... what does that mean? Does it mean that if he qualifies within 107% he's in? I just might have to fly up there that day. This is getting to be too exiting. I've definitely become a race slut. It is all your fault Steve! You're the one that got me hooked on Willow. See what you have gotten me into! |

Yep - he has just been handed the opportunity to qualify. HElluva rare chance! Sunny and I are talking about changing our plans when the word got out in RRW. Even though we have a conflict that weekend, this is one of those "one time" things... his FIRST world-class race. Awesome, just awesome. |

From his website: http://www.moto-garageracing.com/
quote:WILDCARD: Yes, our fav privateer was awarded the Wildcard entry for World Superbike! The WSBK event will be held at Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele, Utah, May 29 - June 1, 2008. Scooter will be racing both the WSBK event and the AMA SBK/Superstock races. The race schedule should prove to be rather interesting. Scott will be on track for almost 7 hours on Saturday with the AMA SBK #1 race; back to back with the AMA Superstock race; back to back with WSBK Superpole. On Sunday he has WSBK #1, then AMA #2, then WSBK #2. Scott would like to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of support. He is overwhelmed by his extended race family's determination to make this opportunity happen. The price tag for WSBK (just entry fees and spec tires alone) is just under $10,000. Scott truly appreciates all of the donations, fund-raising efforts, and spreading o' the word. He would like everyone to know that he would not be able to compete in WSBK without your support. If you are interested in donating $$, please go to the Donate page. We can't offer your name in lights, but you do get your name on the 'Kick-Ass Scooter Fans' page! Don't forget to check out Scott's WSBK Event Sponsors

Anyone who doesn't help support Scott, the lone American facing down the entire WSBK paddock, is a pinhead. I hereby plead to every BadWeBr who is a fan of motorcycle racing to please chip in! Scott has raced at OHR and won; he's an amazing talent and is a true ambassador of the sport. Go Scott! (Message edited by blake on May 23, 2008) |

The two links you provided go to "page not found" Blake. It is a PayPal page but I suppose it does not direct it to a specific account. Being the race slut that I am I was wantin' to pay for my fun for once. (Message edited by doerman on May 23, 2008) |

Go to http://www.moto-garageracing.com You can find the link there for support. I realize that this might kinda sorta conflict with Badweb "sponsorship" but Jensen's such a cool dude. Besides, he STARTED racing on a Buell in CCS. |

This is support for America! Go Scott! The Paypal security scheme apparently renders the original links no bueno after some time interval. Go to http://www.moto-garageracing.com/pages/donate.html and click on "Make a donation" in the lower left corner. (Message edited by blake on May 23, 2008) |

"Anyone who doesn't help support Scott, the lone American facing down the entire WSBK paddock, is a pinhead." #49 Michael Beck might be disappointed to hear you make such a comment. Pinhead indeed! |

Beck did it in Spain as the wildcard. It's Scooter's turn now! The advantage he has is TONS of seat time in AMA and CCS at Miller. Could be interesting. (edit) - Beck was in Monza... sheesh ... back to your regularly scheduled programming. (Message edited by slaughter on May 26, 2008) |

I am a pinhead AND pay-pal'd some hard-earned racing funds to Jensen to support his WSBK effort. Watch the video - http://www.onthethrottle.com/v2/ That weekend is gonna be freaking EXPENSIVE - added to the costs of his AMA Superbike and Superstock. This guy is a true privateer. NO real factory money. We were at Laguna when he got a "bootleg" set of cams from Yates directly. Now that Yates is no longer with the "real" Suzuki team, it's not such a big deal to say anything about it. Those cams were sweet on the (then) new configuration GSXR. "Mortals" couldn't get them for love or money. (Message edited by slaughter on May 27, 2008) |

Blakee "Anyone who doesn't help support Scott, the lone American facing down the entire WSBK paddock, is a pinhead." My comment is in the context of the one and only WSBK race that is taking place on American soil this year. Can you say Jason Pridmore? When you intentionally insult such a large group of people, you should at least get your facts straight. Who's the pinhead? Indeed! |

Pridmore got his ride AFTER Jensen was announced and Pridmore has a FULL WSBK RIDE - not a wild card. (I'm still a pinhead and proud) Jensen is the epitome of a struggling privateer. 20th in his first WSBK is nothing to scoff at... especially since he's ALSO running 2 AMA SBK and one Superstock. I'm betting with the one get-off and 4 days in the saddle, he's a seriously beat racer! |

The guy is amazing!!!We sat in the ERDA Bleachers ,which is in the middle of the last straightaway before the s turns leading into the front straight. At the beginning just us(me and Dave) and about 7 or 8 friends of Scott's sitting next to us(coincidentally)were cheering when he came by.Some group of girls started passing out American flags and by the end of the race a whole bunch of people were cheering when he went by and waving flags!!!! I went to his trailer at the end and he was BEAT!! (pics to follow!) |

The Miller Motorsports Park event this year was held in conjunction with the USA round of the World Superbike Series. The weekend was to be incredibly busy for me, I entered AMA superstock, AMA superbike, and also received a wildcard entry in the World Superbike races. So this meant that I was going to be racing in 5 races, in addition to all the associated qualifying, and practice sessions. We ended up finishing 10th and 13th in the AMA superbike races, 20th and 23rd in the World Superbike races, and unfortunately crashed out of the AMA superstock race. The amount of preparation and work that went into this weekend was enormous. I really cannot say enough for everyone that helped me get ready for this event. My brother in law, Aaron Clark, was absolutely irreplaceable and I could not have done it without him. My sister, Tedi Jensen, did so much behind the scene work and running around at the track that it would make your head spin, she has always been a driving force behind my racing and I would not be where I am today without her. Tom Campion my normal mechanic worked until nearly midnight every night at the track ensuring that the bikes would be ready to ride everyday. We also brought in Kory Cowen to aid with the bike prep duties, who worked every minute of everyday without so much as a peep. Chris Cooke from RPM motorsports/ BG oils flew out to insure that we had enough hands to get everything done. I really cannot say enough for everyone that rallied behind me and the team to make this weekend happen. The opportunity to race against the best riders in the world on American soil was such a great experience its hard to describe. I would like to give a big thanks to On The Throttle for everything. Trackstar1.com and Moto Garage Mobile Dyno Service for contributing to make sure that the weekend was a success. I must give a great big thanks to everyone that donated to help with the finances for the weekend. The weekend never would have happened without so many people contributing and I want to convey a huge thanks from myself and the team to everyone that contributed. It really meant a lot to me personally knowing that so many people jumped on board to help. It’s amazing to think that with the help that everyone contributed we were able to put an actual privateer race bike that came off a showroom of a dealership, was built in the garage by myself and my brother in law, on a World Superbike Grid. Thank You!!! Scott Jensen That last paragraph is the key difference between Scotty's wildcard ride, and everyone else. It was all Scott & crew's hard work that got him there. Mark in Arizona |
