if you find bags without a bracket, let me know. i have a spare bracket that i can't use due to ventura frame rail-bag bracket conflict |

Thanks guys. I was hoping to find a pair of originals but was thinking of the Aerostich Drybags or the Firstgear as backups for a July trip I have planned... I just thought it would be cool to have the Buell bags, but I have seen them go pretty high on Ebay and also planned on getting a Ventura rack down the road and didn't even think about the racks conflicting... Firstbuell - PM me what you want for the bracket just in case. Mark02M2 - How solid is the Firstgear mounting? Do the bags swing into the tire or blow out at speed much? (If we need to move this to another area let me know, I'm new to the forum thing...) Thanks again - Mike |

The Firstgear mounting is basicly lay over velcro straps that go under your seat. The bags lay on the side plastic that keep them away from the wheel, I'd say a good 8 inches of clearance. I have not had any blow out up to 70 or so, I normally have things in them though so their not empty which may make a difference. They have inserts that make them keep their shape and rain covers. I can fit a full face helmet or laptop in them. The only problem I see is they do lay on the side of the rear plastic and will probably make some marks. |
