I'm going to buy a T-Rex rear bike stand and would like to order it as soon as possible. My bike is a 07 XB, do I need to order the spools or swingarm sliders or just order the stand by itself? I'm thinking that there has to be provisions (threaded hole) already on the swingarm in order to use the spools, but this will be the first time I've ever used a bike stand so it's all new to me.

Hey Mike,

Having just bought a set of T-Rex stands, I am pretty familiar with the situation you find yourself in right now. First of all, I really like the T-Rex stands, the quality is first rate, and the price is great.

One of the nice things about the T-Rex stands is they are fairly adaptable. The rear stand can either lift the bike by the swingarm or by spools if you have them (Dark Horse Moto makes great rear slider/spool combos). The drawback to the Dark Horse Moto slider/spool is that it runs right through the rear axle, so if you want to pull the rear wheel you will have to use the swingarm lift. The front stand can either lift the bike by the forks or by the triple tree. It lifts on the forks with pads, and it lifts on the triple tree with a pin. So when you order, just let Tom know what year, make, and model your bike is and he'll set you up with the correct pin.

Here are a couple of threads with good info on the T-Rex stands:

Have fun and enjoy the stands!
