had a couple of weeks of pizza and beer binging in a self loathing repeating recurring process. back over 245. funny how it coordinated with the 3 weeks that my buell was in the shop.... The Harley made me do it, thats my EXCUSE. And now back to your previously recorded diet thread in progress. |

no weigh-in this week, was busy with Big Jim's Ride/Run to the RidgeDome and simply forgot. prolly picked up a pound or two, considering how much stuff went down the pie hole this weekend. will update my chart next Monday morning. congrats to all. FB |

Just stopping in to congratulate everyone here. I've been focusing on running and improving my overall cardio (3 miles every other day now). I haven't weighed myself in over a month, just having fun with exercising. Can't wait to see you guys at the Homecoming. |

OK, I'm finally chiming in. On 1/1/08 I weighed in at a whopping 256. WAY too much for someone my size. Although I've got a barrel chest and big legs, I shouldn't even be anywhere close to that number. I lost about 6 or 8 lbs but at the end of March I got serious. I hired a personal trainer for a few sessions and have been hitting the gym 3 times a week and doing aerobic the other days when I can fit it in. The gym sessions are a combination of strength training and cardio work. This morning I was down to 237, doesn't seem like much really but I've had to tighten my belt about 2 inches. My pants are getting quite a bit looser and my shirts are a bit tighter across the chest and bicep area! I have always had trouble running, my knees are a weak link, always have been. But on a good treadmill, the impact is GREATLY reduced. I can actually run for 10 minutes without coughing up a lung! (plus my knees don't hurt the next day) I'll take the muscle weight gain and the shrinking waist line any day. I'm shooting for around 205 by the end of the summer. The lard went on slow and by most accounts that's the way it should come off. There, now it's out in the public! More incentive to keep working. Brad |

losing weight SUCKS! But my wife picked up some 34" waist jeans for me a couple of weeks ago.... its been hard getting here.. but not impossible |

great to hear that brad and keep it up. i'm having trouble being anymore motivated right now but at least i wake up in the morning and still am under 170, if only a few ounces at times. |

I need to find some more motivation..... I'm having a hard time getting on the treadmill or lifting. I have been doing the yo yo between 208 and 215. Homecoming is less than a month away.... |

I know it's not the official weigh in day, but yesterday was 2 full months on nutrisystem. 50 lbs down in 2 months. well on my way to getting to my target weight, which may be set lower depending on how i feel/ look at 190. |

Start by obligating yourself to do something for yourself(exersize) for 10 minutes a session. Usually if you start though you will go longer... You brush you teeth every morning, right? You don't motivate yourself to do that do you? It is something you have to do to keep your teeth. Exersize is the same. You have to have it to keep your health. So in the infamous words of Starski...or was it Hutch? DO IT! |
