Ok so i stood my bike up quite a bit and now my clutch is slipping. I did a clutch adjustment and wanted to know Why the book says a 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn after bottoming the adjustment screw (I turned it 1/2). That just seems like a big difference. I have read some of the thread and most guys say only 1/8 of a turn. Anyway after adjustment it is a little better but still not right did i do something wrong. I really dont want to take it to the dealer but i definitely need some help with this issue. Thanks STAN |

I've always used 1/4 turn out. I've never heard of anyone using just 1/8th of a turn. Sounds like you may need to also adjust the cable itself at the coupling halfway between lever and clutch. Lever freeplay should not be excessive. And be sure to lubricate the cable too. That can make a surprising improvement to clutch action. |
