Glen - glad to FINALLY meet Blue Eyed Buell Girl - cool pics she got of the chain and rearsets. The chain conversion is jokingly referred to as a "secret" - really just because it is not quite yet available to racers (though it might now be) Chain is needed to lower the gearing for more acceleration. Higbee couldn't reach 6th gear anywhere on the track last month - meaning he was accelerating poorly and not reaching top speed (yeah, I know it doesn't sound logical but generally you set the bikes gearing up to be JUST SHORT of rev limit in top gear at the fastest section of the track. He never got out of 5th. Willow is one of the fastest road courses in the USA yet it is absolutely necessary to gear ALL bikes lower for better acceleration. Doesn't do any good to have "unused RPMs" in the engine in a racebike. For their endurance machines, fuel economy is more of a concern than brute power and acceleration and it made sense for them to try it with the standard belt. |

Cutty: With a chain you can change final drive ratios with different sprockets. Necessary to be competitive on different race tracks, unless you have the money and resources to change tranny gears. |

Is that a modified or custom swingarm?? The belly pan looks sweet ,I'd keep the "unique looking" stock exhaust if I could get a good sound out of it |

Judging from the weld lines I would guess they stripped the coating off the stock Swingarm, cut the end off and welded an adjustable set on. |
