I was ready to pull the trigger on a leftover 06 on Friday. Was talking with the sales manager about it all and brought up the bag promo and he said that his dealership was not participating in the bag promo?? Do individual dealers have to participate in it?? Anyway I told him he lost out on an easy cash deal because of it. So the hunt still continues. |

There's no "participation" in the deal, other than a dealer just not wanting to do it. Some of the promos (like the hydration pack) a dealer has to sign up for - or "participate" in. The Economic Stimulus Program (5.99% or free bag promo) is global, all dealers are able to use it. Heck, it's one piece of paper and the dealer gets a P&A account credit...can't imagine why they wouldn't want to do it. |

"The Economic Stimulus Program (5.99% or free bag promo) is global, all dealers are able to use it." Hate to correct you Ratbuell but it aint a global deal. Does not apply here in cheese and chocolate land for example. I checked it out as I was going to get them and then sell em off. Regards.. DS

Glad you didn't give up. Pisses me off when dealerships treat their customers like a liability rather than an asset. Tipsy |

Tipsy You would hate my dealer in Switzerland Tipsy.... thats exactly how they treat you. Unlike you guys we have no where else to go.... which is probably why they tend to be complacent. |

Tipsy; stay away from dealers in central Massachusetts. Care to be elaborate Crusty? I'm headed to the Great Barrington area in about an hour or two. My parents lives up there an I do all of my work in their garage. As best I can tell, Gengras (East Hartford, CT) and TSI (Ellington, CT)are both about a one hour thirty five minute drive. Brunswick (Troy, NY) is about one hour twenty five minutes...so with all three being the same pain-in-the-ass drive, I might as well choose the one which has the least pain-in-the-ass attitude if (and when) I need some parts. TSI "gets it". They're opening a Buell only building, and are stocking it with all things Buell, including aftermarlet stuff. They have a very positive attitude and they treated me with Respect every time I've been there. The Buell Demo truck will be there on May 30 &31, and they're celebrating their Grand Opening. Check them out and form your own opinion, but I like them. |

Buell is now experimenting with stand-alone dealerships - although they will be owned by existing HD dealers. Let's hope this pilot is successful and we see this program expanded. Soon.

Hey guys, New to this forum and just got a Buell, 2007 Ulysses. Got the deal on the saddlebags, bags came in, took in to the Dealership and when they were installed charged me $350 to install. Nobody ever said anything about installation fee. Did anyone else get charged to install the bags? or Is my dealer trying to rip me off? Thanks, |

Installation is not normally included - but jeez! $350 to install the mounting brackets? Yeah, THAT's a rip off. |

0.o $350? Thats 3.5 hrs labor at my local dealers. It takes half an hour tops to install them, and thats if you run into a fitment issue! |

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. My advise is to avoid Santa Fe, NM HD at all costs as in my opinion there are somewhat dishonest or at the least a little slimy. |
