I'm glad David posted up pics of his bike. They're manly enough to cancel out the picture of Mike's haircut. |

It's just amazing.....at march Badness I could've swore I heard somebody say that Granite Mountain was the premier Buell dealership for Atlanta....so with this in mind, I need some new brake pads for the 'bolt, I figure, hell, thats a common part, they should have that in stock. So I load up the little girl and we head over there to have a daddy day out and go to McD's. We go in and ask the parts dude for the pads for the front and back, and after a few minutes of looking through the parts book he goes to the back and comes back out only to tell me they have the rear pads, but not the front, he'll hafta order those...........I expressed my disgust with the way they prepare to be the premier dealership, and ask what the price is and also if Stone Mountain had the pads...they only have the fronts there, but I aint about to drive up there to get em.......It just amazes me that the "premier" dealership doesn't keep the parts that wear and break in stock......that was the 3rd time I've been to Granite Mountain and more than likely the last! i've never actually bought anything from them, simply because they've never had anything I've needed...... So on the way out i stopped at the front desk and again told the wonderful lady there how disgusted I was with the way they prepare themselves for return Buell folks and their lack of support offered. She took my name and my comments and will hopefully pass the information on to somebody that gives a shit. i've said it before, and i'll say it again, if Granite Mountain is going to be the best Buell place in Atlanta, they will need to either move Philip down there, or find someone like him that has control over inventory, and understands the needs of the Buell riders! Until that happens, I will not go there again! So now I'll just do mail order for Buell specific parts, and get my oils from other Harley dealerships so the owner of Stone Mountain / Granite Mountain will not see my dollar until this problem at Granite Mountain Is addressed. Philip, feel free to pass this rant onto the owner and if he decides to address it positively he can send me a letter stating so, with his guarantee I will have more positive than negative experiences in the future. If so, I'll pm you my mailing address. These things need to be addressed if H-D /Buell wants to get the younger folks on those big couches later in life. Deadduck |

Great job on the bike David, looks sweet. No problem Echoseven, it was my wifes design and didn't last to long anyway. Btw, I'll be nice and just say France..."Viva la kiss my azz" Not ons'a left and ons'a right but right in de'middle! On a lighter note one of my good riding buds Fred aka Frenchy is from there so not everyone from France is worthless. I think Benjamin Franklin was french too and he's one pretty cool dude, met him in my past life. No, really! LOL! So I hope my opinion of France doen't bother you to much, no harm intended. Just play'n so don't get bent out of shape! lets talk WHEELS.......My spare XB wheels-black powder coated are for sale in the Buell classifieds for anyone who needs a set. You track folks could always use a another set. Make me an offer |

France: Buncha cheese eating surrender monkeys. Nice Rant Deadduck. Premier Buell Dealership means they got the cool bike display and play the videos. Everybody knows Buells don't need parts! How was the trip? |

I thought it look'd stupid...some people can pull it off and really make it look tough! The first punker that show'd up at my high school weight'd about 125 lbs wet and maybe 5'8" and his mohawk was at least a foot high. After a few beatings from the local hics' and jocs' he found some Deca D' and windstrol-V I'll never forget him showing up at gym after being gone for most of the year. He walked over and took off his shirt it was like he had transformed into someone like Edward Norton in the American history X but add about 30 more lbs though. I heard several people at the same time say HOLY SH_T!!!!!! WTF! Glad we were friends, I got along with most everyone. Sorta class clown/wild heathen. FOR THE WHEELS, I was hoping for about $400.00 Is this price to high? Its a buyers market! Haven't done the research to see what folks are paying for them. Paid 600 plus with another 150 for powder coating,40 for pressing the bearings in and out. |

kdan - that was one of the best solo tours I've ever taken. Did 1000 miles of good backroads up and down the east and west sides of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ended up stopping 50 miles south of Roanoke Va. went west and came back down the other side of the mountains. Traffic was extremely light and had the oportunity to meet the ST rider group in Va., the Adventure Riders in Hot Springs, and ran into a new Badwebber (Bryanmjohns) and a fairly new owner of an 1125 at Deals Gap who were kind enough to let me stay at their cabin up there Saturday night. Bryan and I ran the Cherohola a time and a half Saturday, and ran it again on the way home Sunday. What a fantastic road...... anyway, I'll try to put a ride report together with pictures tonight while I'm at work and post em over in the tale section. That was definately a trip I'd do again, even on the Firebolt. |

Speaking of bearings. I don't have my service manual with me, so I don't have a way to check right now. So my question is, At what mileage should you be changing wheel bearings? I have 14K on my CityX, and was starting to wonder when I should change them out. I don't know how they are looking, as that would call for actually cleaning the crud off of them to inspect... I haven't washed my bike in at least 1 year, and I don't want to start any bad habits yet. LOL |

I had a great ride on Saturday. Our group did a poker run with the local Volunteer fire department that sits on the road that we hooliganize on a weekly basis. We figured we should probably show some support for the community that we regularly terrorize. The sport bikes ended up just out-numbering the HDs/Cruisers. We headed out to the first stop... then the second, then the third, when we got to the fourth stop, there was nobody there... We beat the organizers to the 4th stop by about 1/2 hour!! LOL. We ended up calling them to let them know we were there. The response was "You guys are ALREADY at the 4th stop?? HOLY CRAP!... We'll be there in a few minutes!" I didn't win crap... |

I don't have my manual handy, but I'm pretty sure there's no scheduled replacement for the bearings. Just a scheduled inspection (probably every 5k miles) and replace as needed. |

Duck, Welcome to my world. WHEN I can find parts I stock up, pads/disc's/mufflers/speed sensors. All the usual items that sh1t the bed every few thousand miles... Speaking of that, anybody have a spare tuber muffler? Got out bid on e-bay for a fresh one (D&D). The bid was $175 with the collector from Pauls Parts cycle surplus. He had another 10 in stock so I offered him the same price plus $25 shipping but he asked for $275 for the next one since they are getting "rare"! I told him to shove all 10 up his azz and play me a tune, then they would be rare. |

Sanchez, what's not dented yet? Ratyson, Just check 'em when you yank the wheels off for tire time. If they feel crunchy when you turn 'em with your fangers, change 'em. I let Buell change mine at about 20k or so. The front was crunchy, the rear was good. Did 'em both. |

Yall check your bikes out?? I still have to get the battery on the Uly charged to see if I need a stator or VR. So far the stator is not shorted to ground, had the right resistance between the coils so hopefully she is charging. I dont really want to put a VR on but its better than the stator. |

Yall check your bikes out?? Why?? did we have some sort of cosmic storm that drains power from batteries and kills stators and regulators? Did I miss something? |

> Yall check your bikes out?? I just ride mine until it makes a loud clattering noise, and then I stop to see what broke. Russ, if your bearing looks like this, it needs to be changed: If your wheel looks like this, it needs to be changed too:

Ducky, If in fact I actually checked out my bike besides when it breaks I might have noticed the low batt volt. I had made 0 dollars at work, went to lunch to deposit my check and ended up calling the wife for a ride home instead. The Uly only made it 3 miles from work. Sanchez, I laugh at myself every time I see that pic. You and your damn camera, always there to have a photographic representation of my oops moments! |
