IIRC, the extended warranty is NOT with HD, but a (outside provider) subcontractor of some sort. So that HD, for the most part, is out of the loop if there is a warranty issue during the extended coverage period. You are then faced with fighting it out with the provider, if/should they decide not to cover the item, under the extended warranty.. That is the only reason I declined it. John |

In Canada it cost $2500 + tax for the 5 year plan. Although the sales person told me it was bumper to bumper - the financial guy said it was only power-train... The cost and confusion was why I declined. You can have a lot of work done for the money. |

IMO it isn't worth it. I was quoted $600 to extend it for one year and that didn't include the wheels. The odds are greatly in favor of the bike NOT need over $600 in repairs in its third year. Just b/c you chose not to do your own service doesn't mean that you cannot have it fixed at the dealer after the warranty. |

I'm the friend Barker posted this for, thanks for the opinions and I think I'm going to pass on the Ext Warranty also. It is about $1200 to add 5 years so it is not a horrible deal but I would rather spend the money on some cool Buell clothing. I do wish I could find the fine print online so I could read up on what they are offering instead of trying to do it in the store. Looks like I'm going to pick the bike up on Saturday. Going from a Suzuki M50 to the XB12XT! Both are black (of course) |

Hell, I wasn't even offered an extended warranty on my '08 XB12XT. It's probably for the best because I got soaked on my V-Rod with it. The few things that did go wrong on the V-Rod where I could've used a supportive hand (it's a little better than a helping hand...) there was nothing to be had! If people think Buell customer service is bad, have I got a story about H-D customer service for ya... 1313 |

You have 2 years warranty with the bike... so,,,you might not even have the bike at the end of the factory warranty..and... as long as it is under warranty you can buy the extended warranty..I got down to the last few days and said..Nope... |

Got the bike, didn't get the ext warranty. The salesman was pushing hard but the finance guy seemed to act like no one gets it on a Buell. |
