From the E-mail: On Saturday May 17th, 2008, we're hosting our 3rd Annual Spring Open House in Center Conway, New Hampshire, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We'll be feasting on a FREE upscale BBQ catered by Fandangle's Restaurant. There will be door prizes given away hourly, selected winter overstock on sale, all sorts of interesting bikes to see from far and wide and unique shopping opportunities in our warehouse store! For that one day only, we will be offering a 10% discount on all non-sale items! Remember, there is NO SALES TAX in New Hampshire, so this adds up to a heck of a great deal. So, come ride the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire in their full springtime glory, and then stop in for lunch and a fun visit at Whitehorse World Headquarters! Is anybody from Badweb going to be there besides Terri and myself? It would be a good thing to have a large contingent of Buells there, since they're publishing 25 Years of Buells. It's a chance to ride the Kancamagus Highway, eat free BBQ and look at some neat bikes. |

If the weather holds I might show up. Also, Rochester Motorsports is having a bike night this Thursday May 15th starting at 5 pm. I will also be at New England Dragway on Friday night to make some passes. Send me a pm if you are interested. http://www.rochestermotorsports.com/ http://newenglanddragway.com/html/home.php |

I rode to the bike night at Rochester Motorsports with a guy from work that recently purchased a TL1000. Considering it was supposed to rain the turn out was good with about 90 bikes being there. The FREE barbeque ribs were worth the trip alone and they did give away some good prizes. We talked to the new guy at the dealership that is running the event, nice guy, forgot his name, and we agreed that on a night with more promising weather there should be about 200+ bikes. So, if you are in the area consider riding out on an upcoming Thursday night! Crusty are you still going tomorrow? What time will you be there? Which way are you heading up? I don't mind a sprinkle but won't go if it looks like a downpour. |

Hey Dan, looks like rain is on the way. Some others were planning on coming up, but it is "up in the air" right now. The ticket is a rain check if it does gets rained out, but unless someone is coming up (NEBO guys) or my brother is running, I will probably save it for another time. If I do go, runs start at 6. I'll post again before 5 with a decision. Kids next weekend so Friday May 30th is the rain date for street night and Saturday May 31st for the Streetfighter Bracket race. |

Scott; We're still planning on going. The rain should end in the morning, and the weather is supposed to be nice for the rest of the day. We plan on getting there around 10:00 - 10:30. Look for the Red XT and the red Lightning Long with hard bags. That'll be Terri and I. It sounds like it's going to be a good time! |

Ok, looks like we are looking at a rain date for drag racing. Not raining yet, but doppler shows it on the way. I'll be on the lookout Crusty (if I do come up, I might go drag racing since I missed tonight), I'm on a black and sinister S3...... |

Scott.... It's raining here in Westwood. I was going to go tomorrow but unfortunately I gave my girlfriend the choice of going to the open house or going on a canoe trip down the local river........... she wants to go on a trip down the river. |

I decided not to ride up to North Conway. It would have been a very soggy beginning and, more importantly, I didn't have anybody to ride up with (passenger or another bike). On a better note, I did end up going to the track and had a blast! I'll post that story separately. |

I had a great ride. The traffic on the Kancamagus Highway was so light that I could ride at my own (slightly elevated)pace. There was a really big turn out for the Open House. I saw some pretty neat bikes there; Tourers, Sport-Tourers, Cruisers, a little of everything. I even saw two other Ulys - one blue and one orange. There were Friendly people of all types there. The staff from Whitehorse were all pretty nice folks. I had a long discussion with one of the Staff members while waiting in the food line, and expressed my anticipation for the forthcoming 25 Years of Buell He told me that there was a lot of interest in the book, and he was hoping it would be available soon. The food was really good, they even had Good coffee! I picked up a couple of "Damaged" books for $5.00. They normally sell for $25.00 each. There were lots of other bargains, as well. When I left, I took only secondary roads home. They were mostly lightly traveled and twisty; perfect for an XT. All in all, it was an almost perfect motorcycling day. |
