I'm looking to rent an XB12X or XB12XT, what is the closest dealer that will rent one to us????? I know that Liberty HD/Buell Rahway, NJ will but that is several hours away. I've got a trip planned 16 May and need to know. (Message edited by t9r on April 29, 2008) |

Got a chance to test ride the Uly XT today. Thanks to a nail in my tire, I had to make an emergency run down to Baltimore HD and while I was there Erik let me demo the XT for the Buell Hydration pack (which I had suspected would be kinda cheesy, but is actually pretty damn neat). Also met Twintour while we were hanging out waiting on my tire. Really liked the XT. Here's why: it was comfortable! And it holds alot of stuff! Both things that I want my City X to do, but it keeps coming up short. All the handling and power was still there in the XT, but it seemed well... 'docile' was the word that kept running through my mind. Didn't really like it at first. I really really like my bike and anything new just isnt as good. But then I remembered that this is for touring and then I started picking out things that I liked about it. Got to the point where I liked more than I disliked, and by the end of the ride, I just liked it all! If only there was a way to rent one to take up to the 25th... I'd be pretty damn comfy on the way. Oh yeah, spotted a couple of shirts over in the clothing store and took 2 home. Oh, and Erik... thanks for the quarter. |

I enjoyed the ride...too bad it had to end on such a nice day! If I'm unable to attend Buell's 25th due to financial reasons, just blame Smiley! I gave him a quarter for a Dew! |

Hey Smiley - if you want a Uly to ride to the 25th, you're welcome to my X. Granted you'll have to mount/dismount at a curb every time or carry a stepladder...but it'd be a way for me to get a second bike out there And look on the bright side - at least you didn't put new tires on when you were here. That would suck on a level that usually reserves itself just for me... |

WOW! Now that's brave! Loan a bike to the guy who comes into your store to buy replacement parts after he wrecks his own! But yeah, the thought about the tire timing did cross my mind. |

Erik,I finally found a good deal on side bags. Project perfect bike is almost complete, part long .part ulysses, part city x. Pics coming soon. I also will not be able to go to the 25th party. My wife has booked a beach house for a family outing that week at the outerbanks. Smiley1eye my version of the XT will still be a knee dragger , but will need baby knee pucks on the front corners of the hard bag. So not to wear holes in them!!! |

Twintour, I think your bike will be sick. From your description of it, I'm sure it'll be a damn demon on and off the road. See if you can find some 17 inch knobbies and just go all the way. |

Hey guys I just got back from Memphis Tn. My Uly has over 4,000 miles on it now. It left me stranded down in Kentucky the wire going to the battery from the engine was arching and drained my battery. I found out it was a regular thing for the Ulys and the Buell tech in Clarksville Tn fixed me up but told me to get the part replaced. Then on my way back home I met Bearly he zoomed into the Winchester, Va dealership HEY BEARLY! Winchester has a coffee shop open even on Sundays when the shop is closed that would be a good ride for us up here in Md. Winchester is having a forth of July blowout with Bubba Blackwell, I'm going to try and go down to see him since I missed last year! K |

K, I'm unable to ride with the group for Dick Gelfman's Ride Across Maryland, but I will be heading down after work on Saturday. Will be staying at the host hotel in West Ocean City! I hope the ride down will be less eventful than my ride to the beach this past weekend though. Blown fork seal on the way down, fork oil all over the front brake, which meant no effective brakes as I rode up to th red lite on Coastal Hwy. What really sucked was riding home at 65mph!!! Tom at Ocean City H-D/Buell was very helpful, but the parts were not in stock. Thanks Again Tom! E |

Hi Eric, My Uly broke down on me in Kentucky on the western Kentucky parkway I posted on FOR THE FACTORY today to see if anybody can give me guidance on the huge tow bill I had to pay. I talked to Carl yesterday and I was wondering if any of the Buell techs at the HD store know about the common arching in the smaller connector that leads to the battery. I want to get the connector replaced before it burns out my regulator, and while the bike is under warranty. I'll be riding the X1 or the City X to OC so we'll have to hook up. I'm staying at the FSK too. Sorry to hear about you fork seal blowing and I'm glad you are okay. K |
