So I went to start up the wife's 1125R a couple of minutes ago, and it acts as if there is no juice and does not start. Then "Theft Error" appeared on the screen and would not let us change the screen by pressing Mode or Toggle. Has anybody had this happen? The owners manual states that it needs to be taken to a dealership ... The only problem I have had with this bike up until now was the fuel boiling/smell. I got the reflash done and picked up the bike last Saturday ... and now this happens. The last time the bike was ridden was approximately 24 hours ago. Any ideas? |

Just charge it up. If it still shows theft error, pull the main fuse for a minute. Z |

So this is just a matter of the battery being low on voltage? I haven't had any battery problems the last 5 months ... the bike has even sat up to about 3 weeks, it always started. It sat for a little over a day and now the battery dies? I don't have anything to charge the battery with so, I guess I'll have to go buy something. |

Well Zac you were right (Thanks for your help!), I charged the bike over night and it started right up this morning with no error codes. So we'll see if the battery dies after the bike sits for 24 hours. If the battery continues to die, then I will take it to the dealership. |

Did you ever set the PIN for the alarm system? |

Actually yes, about 2 days prior to the battery dying. I accidentally went into the pin set by accident, so I changed the default code. But I turned the system off since others batteries had died from using the security system. I checked it today ... after sitting for about 36 hours. The bike started and I checked the voltage. It had gone down approx. .1 volts since last check. Unfortunately the battery charger I bought only charges to 12V instead of the 12.7. And it will be a couple of days before either my wife or I can ride it to try and charge it back to full strength. |

See my thread on this topic, it is from early this year. Battery, voltage regulator and security system were the culprits (Message edited by wahoo on May 13, 2008) |
