Weird. Adjusted the suspension per manual, less than 170lbs. I can push on the back and the bike will bounce 1 and a half times. It feels REAL soft. This normal? I'm light guy, 150 with all my gear on. I can increase compression and rebound and it does get stiffer. | ||

Ride and see. Slow inputs like pushing on the bike get different reactions than the faster / higher frequency inputs of an actual ride. | ||

I set my bike up for 170 or less and I don't think it bounced when I pushed on the seat. It just went down and came back up. Your bike sounds too soft to me. | ||

I have noticed differences in ambient temperature effecting such suspension response. By chance is it over 150F degrees when you are located? I cant wear short shorts in the summer without underwear for the same reasons. J/K  | ||

Dre, You are adjusting the damping by backing the screws out the specified number of turns, counter-clockwise, after having turned them full in clockwise, yes? Doing the opposite would explain the behavior you are seeing. | ||

Lets see.. Compression, I turn it as if I'm tightening a screw, and then back ou the number of turns, 20 full turns. Rebound, same thing. 3.25turns CCW for adjustment. If I use the 270lb weight setting for both, its stiff as a log. I'll check with the dealer tomorrow morning, see whats up. | ||

Dre that's 20 CLICKS, not TURNS.... Seems it something like 6 cliks per turn. Zack | ||

Only thing that is clicks is the rear shock COMPRESSION: CLICKS OUT FROM MAXIMUM** All the others minus the rear shock preload is turns out or in. | ||

Krassh - Compression is what I and Dre were talking about. He said 20 turns, I replied 20 cliks. The other adjustments he mentioned were turns and OK... Z | ||

Sorry, 20 clicks. Its impossible to turn it 20 times full revolution. Today, the suspension seemed stiffer. I have a feeling when the bike gets real hot/hot day, it softens up back there. Hmm.. | ||

Before you ride, it feels much stiffer on a cold day than a warm day. As you ride on a cold day the suspension oils will warm and it should soften up. | ||

Your owner's manual even mentions this phenomenon and advises that some compensatory adjustments are a advisable for colder or warmer temperatures. Does the rear shock see much engine heat? |
