Well the title says it all. I found the last 2008 black XB12S available in Canada good news it's in very same city I'm moving too but the bad news is the price is 800$ more then here and the sale taxes over there are higher then here so it will cost a bit more. Should I get the color I want or just get the cheaper cherry bomb I could get here? |

Easy.... see if they can match the deal out the door. If not trade your plastics out. Or sell on Ebay and buy a new set. |

I paid to get the blue off of my bike, it was something that was important to me. Besides, Buell didnt make an Orange CityX.... |

Well part of my problem is the cherry bomb is coming with red wheels too so I would actually need to get new wheels or get them painted. I know I'm being picky but I really like the all black bike |

My XB12SS started all red, now its all blue minus the rims, getting the hero blue rims thrown on soon. I was able to sell most of the plastics for most of the cost of new ones, so its not like i lose out on much. |

The black with red wheels looks pretty cool, IMO. Changing airbox and flyscreen is like $270 US; wheels are $360 US each. I'd see about living with red wheels for a bit, buy the plastics, and use the few hundred saved on fuel so you can go and ride! |

did someone say black with red wheels?
seriously, get the bike for the best deal possible, then work with a badwebber to swap out for black plastics -- I might be willing to do the trade, since my fiancee wants a cherry bomb scg. I'm sure there are other people around here who would be interested as well. as a bonus, you can probably get a really good deal when you are honest that you don't like the bike's color -- never know. good luck either way! Yeah it's not bad with the red wheels. I'll see what the dealer with the black one is ready to do and then I will decide. |

thats a good looking firebolt, only missing maybe some red rallye stripes down the center of the bike. You know that when you are on the bike, you really cant see the color of it.... |

I started with an all black Buell and the dealership traded for my black wheels straight up. |

Retrittion, sorry I should have said look good on the bolt, I'm just not sure on the lightning. Eldredma my dealer here seem to be a bit tight on any deal especially that it is the only one that I know in the Country who is actually matching the US MSRP of 10 499 every other ones are selling at 11 299. The last time I talked with them about switching the plastic they didn't know the price but were guessing 1000$ so I was thinking screw that. I guess if I keep the red wheels I should try to get the bolt air box cover with the red badges. |

The heck with it man! Get what you want who knows the quality of the parts you MIGHT trade will be in. Not only that you won't need to wast time and energy getting the bike the way you want it. Besides you will have plenty of time wanting to find mods to make. |

I, for one, WOULD pay more to get the color I really want (within reason). I love the hero blue scheme of the cityX, but I want an XB12SS or STT. |

I didn't. I really wanted a 2007 Cherry Bomb XB12Scg last year. The dealer wouldn't budge off the MSRP. He had a new leftover 2006 Valencia Orange for $8395. Needless to say ... I have the Orange one. |

Dmhines My problem is I really don't like(I could say I hate it) the transparent plastics so. |

A new flyscreen and airbox will cost you $266 from the dealer. The only difference will be the wheels. Those will cost $750. Grand total = $1016 which is bout how much more you'll spend (+tax) for the Canadian bike. You should be able to get 60-75% of the cost back by selling the cherry pieces here or on BadWeB. If the plastics are your only problem then go for the cheaper cherry bomb. (Message edited by not_purple_s2 on May 08, 2008) |

Like Not_purple said, but have the wheels powder coated for way less than $750. Do it next winter and you won't be out any riding time. just my $.02 |

Dmhines I have to say that this one is the best of the transparent scheme too bad they switched to the black wheel for it. But I still prefer the all black one |
