We got rain and some small hail instead of snow down in Albert Lea. I mowed my lawn on Saturday though. Fertalized a couple of weeks ago and the grass was well over 6" tall already... Didn't end up getting the bikes out unfortunatly - I was helping a freind refinish his wood floors... | ||

Anybody in the Twin Cities area interested in getting together for a ride? I’ve put on 1600 miles on my Buell and I have yet to meet a Buell owner. I’m kind of surprised. I was just about to ask if anyone would be interested in riding Sunday afternoon (I work nights, my morning starts about 3 p.m.) I like your idea of meeting at a restaurant, that way we could meet and see what we want to do from there. Another idea would be for Julie and I to have one of our semi-famous barbecues, and any a y'all that'd like to stop by would be welcome. If anyone likes that idea I can post directions. | ||

I do work on sat and mon till 3pm but may be able to leave earlier if those work better for everybody else. Sunday I do have plans but I may be able to move them to early or late in the day. Another option would be to throw out a far out date to give some time to plan for. Possibly plan for June 22 weather permitting or bump to June 28/29 rain or shine? | ||

I think June 22 will work for me. I don't have any time or place suggestions though...I live in the NW metro (Anoka, Ramsey area). Plus I'm reletively new to the area, so I don't know of any good riding paths to take. I have only commuted to work and home on my bike so far. | ||

Bcarlson, I also havent ridden in 6 years. I was actually thinking more along the lines of meet up with some fellow Buellers and go for a scenic ride. I wasnt planning on tearing up the streets or anything. I believe Mnbueller is also a newer rider and lives in the northern metro. Im not sure where Ravensmith22 lives. We could meet in forest lake and go from there. Im not trying to pressure you or anything, I just dont want you to misunderstand my intentions. | ||

I'd be down for meeting up with you guys sometime, but Forest Lake is a Hike for me. Its pushing 300 miles just to get there and back and probably another 100+ or so just riding around. If you were running around the south side of the cities, or over to the afton area and down around lake pepin sometime, etc, then I might join in. Have fun though! Nick | ||

Brad - Yep! Ann has my old `03 Blast; we bought it back from the dealer this sping. She graduated from her first low side last week too, and Grinning to boot! (She has a couple impressive bruises though...) It was just a minor spill on a gravel driveway. Apparently, she didn't want to drop out of second (I wasn't with her). She said crashing was "Kinda Fun." She picked it up and rode it the rest of the way to work... I came and checked it over and then she rode it home later... I was impressed. Anyway, the Blast survived it well and only needed a new turn signal and a new rear brake lever and I was so happy because the dealer had them in stock! I was just thinking it would be cool to see you again. I'm not planning to make it to homecoming this year since we're leaving for our big NYC ride so closely after that. Kinda sucks but the Catskills will make up for it I'm sure. I laid my bike over (gently) yesterday (don't ask... [\rolleyes] )  Broke the toe peg off my shifter, but was able to thread the remnants out. Hopefully I can just get a generic one that will thread on. Afterward though, I noticed one of my forks has a slight weap. (Flashback to the big pothole I hit last weekend.) I found a local shop now that is really good (The guy specializes in head work for Harley's but works on a lot of imports too. His personal bike is a Busa drag bike with NO2, stretched swing arm, and an pneumatic shifter, etc, etc.. He had another Busa motor torn down on the bench in the middle of having a turbo installed and showed me the pistons and stuff – pretty cool. He said he did a Buell once and had it on the dyno with big rear-wheel numbers, but I forgot what they were exactly..) Anyway he quoted me $150-$200 depending to change the oil and the seals on my forks. I thought that sounded pretty reasonable. hmm... I shoulda Probably PM'd all that. LOL. I have a five month old too, so I have to balance my riding with parental duties, and this weekend's weather is perfect for working on my oil change and detailing my bike (basically anything BUT going riding) it sounds like... I'm only about 25 or 30 miles north of Forest Lake, so I'd be glad to meet up with y'all one of these days. Ben | ||
