Yes you heard me right. Ok so I go to this bike blessing and the thing is as organized as a friggin circus parade. Anyhow, knowing my limitations, I park her in a nice safe spot so I can get out. Later I go to get her and I blessed, we lose our spots and I have to drive down this gravely sh*t with potholes the size of Jupiter. The stuff is no lie like 3 inches thick of ground up blacktop. I park her no problem, test the weight, no problem. Put the kickstand puck (free with blessing entry) on the gas tank and forget about it. No more than 10 minutes goes by (since the blessing, ironically) and I'm ready to bounce. I get her through the maze of customs (thank God) you never want to be the one to knock over a train of bikes. Stupid a*s forgets the puck and it apparently slides down between the handlebar and wedges itself (unbeknownst to me obviously). I go to turn and she locks up and falls right over. Just like that. Broke my heart and my ego. Picked her up with the help of some brutes and she has a few scratches, nothing a bandaid won't fix. But the experience bumped my cocky attitude right back down where it probably belongs. 9,000 miles and never once dropped my XB9. Hopefully this isn't a curse from the funeral thing.....

Chickie,

I brought my 1125r home from my first long ride, turned hard into the garage as I've done a million times, grabbed a WHOLE HANDFUL of front brake and at 1 MPH went right over the bars.

It took a new clutch cover plastic, new pod cover to fix the bike -- it was just scratched up a little.

First bike I'd dropped in a lot of years of riding.

We always do it when they are brand new! Ugh.

Before my accident I had dropped my bike exactly one time. The DAY I bought it! Embarrassed and ticked off at the same time.

Went to see a friend to show off the new bike ,when I went to leave someone closed the gate I got confused and didn't give myself enough room to turn around ,turned as far as possible couldn't hold it up down I went not only scratches to the left side poked in the eye with the right mirror (ouch)very embarrassing plus needed help to get it off of me,Two kinds of riders those that have been down and those that are going down. Hope that is the last time

ok, I confess... I also dropped it.

2 weeks ago following some friends to a chinese restaurant. Pulled right in front and there was a table of 12+ college girls having a birthday party at a table next to the window. I pull up my headlights pull everyone's attention. Half the table turns to look. Other tables are looking and my friends are pointing...
I'm thinking I'm hot sh*t, hit the kill switch, turn the key to the off position and slowly step off....

... never put the kickstand down.

well i dont have a 1125 to drop (yet).

the only time you drop your bike is in the most embarassing situations possible. 2 weeks ago i pulled into my local HD dealership to pick up some parts. i ride my S2 every day, all season long, for over a year. i pull up to the space. get off my bike, my shoelace catches the kick stand and takes me down with my bike on top of me. PISSED THE FAWK OFF!!@@!!

I have a really good habit of not dropping my bike otherwise .. but i think its funny that its only the situations where it could suck the worst is when something completely dumb like that happens

I did mine today. No speed, put my foot down in a hole. Remember Artie Johnson in Laugh-in? How do you like the turn signals flashing like a 4-way flasher? It indicates the tip over switch has been activated.

My Throttlemeister took the load, except for my pride.

Got you all beat unfortunately I was taking a turn at about 30 mph leaned over when next thing I know I am sliding across the pavement and the bike goes past me. Still not entirely sure what happened but long story short lots of damage pissed me off like you couldn't imagine bike may be totaled out since I somehow hit both sides, ground a whole in the case and put a gouge in the frame somehow among other things that got damaged.

Weather is great finally and I have no bike very very pissed off by the whole event.

Where was the gouge in the frame? Thought the pods where suppose to act as crash protector's. One of the reasons I thought they did not put frame pucks on. Was it where the pucks would have been?

My xb9 that i traded in for my 1125r put me over the handlebars at about 5mph. was pulling into the garage and the foot peg caught up on the stone wall that goes around my flower bed right next to where i park my truck. Missjudged the distance between the truck and the stone wall and the bike came to a complete jamming stop when i wasn't paying attention. Didn't go all the way over the handlebars but i ended up hanging over the top for about 3 seconds and then rode the bike down into the door of my truck. Screwed up the door and did ZERO damage to the buell. Good thing Buells dont crumple like a chevy truck does

I was loading my M2 in a trailer at 5am getting ready to come back from a vacation, the family is all up asleep still in the condo, I am alone. It was a borrowed tralier, I didn't have much experience with it.

The angle it was at was just enough that the bottom of the M2 caught on the lip as it was going up... which hung up the bike at just the wrong time. It slowly falls on top of me, pinning my legs between the bike and the trailer. I kept it from bonking anything expensive, it is all supported by my leg, now I just have to wrestle this pig back upright.

Grunnntt! Flops right back. Grrrnnnrnrnrnjrjnrrnrnnrrt! Flops right back. Hmmm, this thing is heavy, but it isn't *that* heavy.

DOH! The nice banke brake lever has wedged itself into the open steel mesh trailer deck. Geesh. Now what. Can't go up, as it is wedged in the mesh. Cant go down, as my legs are pretty well pinned.

I just sat there laughing for a while waiting for a sympathetic jogger to come along so I could ask for help... after about 10 minutes with nobody appearing. I just gave one final heave ho assuming it would probably break the peg off the brake... but figuring I could probably fix it.

Turns out a banke brake peg is much stronger then an open mesh steel trailer deck, and it bent the steel enough to "pop" out.

The thought of my self chuckling, pinned under a motorcycle on a trailer waiting for a jogger, still makes me laugh to this day...

I "dropped" the KLR-250 two days ago as well, if you can consider "flying 4 feet and launching out from underneath me as I land on my butt in the mud" dropping it. And I smile now as I think about sitting there in said mud, one hand holding the bike upright, the other hand using a screwdriver to try and pry the chain back onto the rear sprocket. Darn these unreliable chain drive bikes anyway... ; )

I guess I am easily amused... : )

Not sure how I manged to gouge the frame its up high so might have been when I came off the thing or when it sort of went up the curb. Not really sure though.

Did I read that right, does the 1125R flash the signals when the bank angle sensor has shut fuel off? Thats another cool little easter egg!

I dropped my M2 while loading it into my truck. Right foot rail (2x8) slid off the tailgate when I was right at the TOP of the ramp. So when I say i dropped it, I mean it dropped from 3 feet off the ground. Bounced a couple of times (both me and the bike). Picked it up, believe it or not - not even a scratch on it! Cranked it up, secured my foot rails and drove it right into the truck. So don't feel too bad, you've got the first one out of the way. Just make sure any future ones aren't any worse and get help if you ever want to load it into a truck.

Mine did. I thought it was kinda thoughtful to have all those lights flashing and warning everyone what a dork I was for dropping the 1125r :+}

I used to have a cube van with a fairly wide ramp that was my dirt bike transport rig. After a 3 hr hare scramble, completely drained of all energy, rode through the slickest of mud in a parking lot and tried to ride my bike up the ramp into the box. I had done this hundreds of times. I did not fare so well this time though. About two thirds the way up my front tire washed out and dumped me in the mud with my bike on top of me. Thank goodness there were lots of people to help...not. How embarrassing.

I always put the first dent or scratch in every bike or cage that I have ever owned! I always ask for the inclusion a hammer in the sale so that I put the first ding in it! ha ha

Since there is a dog pile on our most embarrassing drops, I have to add mine.

I rode my M2 to the Inside Pass event last fall. Amazing ride, even more amazing track event (and why I bought the 1125R).

On my way back to Seattle from Salt Lake, I stopped from breakfast. I pulled into a truck stop to fill both me and the bike up.

The bike was loaded - bungied stuff everywhere. I had the kickstand down - but on fresh asphalt that was in the warm marking Utah sun. I got as far as the sidewalk before the kickstand started sinking into the asphalt. I rushed to catch the bike - but no luck.

Bent the shifter is all. Was lucky!

A gouge in the frame up high was possibly caused by the handlebar end contacting the frame in the fall. I did that with my xb but it was just a dent and wasn't serious. Frame pucks would have prevented it. Now the pucks cover up the dent and you wouldn't know it was there.

LMFAO at the drop stories. My first bike, a Kaw Ninja, was terrified of dropping it. Hit some gravel in a turn and it started to slide. I threw myself under the bike to avoid damage (smart). My next one, a CBR600F3, put my foot in a hole and fell right over. My next one, a Buell Blast, got my shoelace tangled in the peg at HD in Kenosha and fell over in the parking lot. Real cool chick. Agree with pizzaboy, never happens when nobody's lookin...

I dropped my 2007 Firebolt XB12R 3 times and each time it was a low speed high-side to the right. Broke only the front brake lever each time.
That was my first bike (ever) and I was still trying to get the low-speed maneuvering down.
I quit dropping it when I put the frame pucks on... Go figure.
