Seats designed to carry more than one (1) person are not equipped with handgrips and
footrests for passengers.

They all have a "hand grip" except the STT in stock form which has no passenger provisions. examples...

You know, I never though of those as being handgrips. Somehow I can't imagine any adult being able to ride on the back and hold on with it. Even if they could, I don't imagine it would be sturdy enough not to rip off in the event of a swift take off.

But you're right, legally, they do count.

Maryland law states you must have either a grab strap (as above) or a sissybar / backrest for a passenger. Personally I wouldn't put much stock in a grab strap either, but I don't suspect it's supposed to be a seatbelt; more of a "whoa, easy on the throttle" or "oh s**t" handle : )

I took the rear reflector off of my Firebolt, but left the side ones on. They make a good attachment point when I want to use a tail bag.

Florida took the strap off the books last year... Abate had something to do with it..

Strap is worthless for the most part..
Might work for good for a Olson twin or some other anorexic skank..
