....and it broken again... anyway , except the fact that some R1 and Gsxr make it frustrating , i'm really happy of my bike. a better forks and rear shock set-up was done and most of all i noticed how a new set of track tires make the difference. bye Alessio

I reinforced my bellypan with 1/16" thick sheet metal that I epoxied INSIDE the pan. I did that at the connection points as they broke. It took a bit of time hammering the plates to get them to match the contour of the pan, but it hasn't broken at the SAME place twice. The plates were about 2" x 1.5" at each connection. Also, the mounting bolts shouldn't be very tight, just a few ft-lbs. In fact, I tighten the pan bolts by turning a socket on a 4" extension by hand (no ratchet). That led to bolts falling out once or twice, so I just recently started safety-wiring the bolts as well. hope that helps. Ben |

thank you Ben it is exactly what i want to do ...use fiberglass to repair the bellypan and to fix inside it some metal parts that holds at the connection points. plastic around connection points was destroyed and the bellypan was free to float.... it was the only buell of the day for the second time. bye Alessio |
