Spops, if I can't arrange to get the bike transported, I'll join you on the road trip. I'll be heading up from the Baltimore area. With 8 weeks to go, there's plenty of time for planning and gather up a local group. This is going to be a great time! |

Sleez, I feel your pain. I really hope you are able to make it. I got informed yesterday that I will have to deploy to Alaska for 4 months starting 15 May. Today I was told that four of us will rotate 1 month at a time and guess which month I got? You bet, July. I thought I was done with this crap when I retired from the military but as a government contractor it does happen. I am actively looking for a way out of this one short of giving my notice...... |

I'll be starting a new job in the next few days. Told the new employer of my desire to hold my July plans. Fingers are crossed. Zack |

I just got my schedule for the 56 days beginning May 18th. I was/am hoping to ride to Homecoming. As it stands right now, I'll be traveling and won't return home until late on the Thursday July 3rd. In a few weeks, I'll have the opportunity to tweak my schedule. Hopefully, I can trade some days. What I'd like to do is start riding (from NYC) toward Wisconsin on June 30th or July 1st. Hope I can get it worked out! Tipsy |

For those of you planning on doing a long ride to/from Homecoming, I came across this nugget: http://ironbutt.com/tech/aowprintout.cfm Would be great to hear about specific tools, personally I learned to carry zip ties and full socket/hex set. Saved me twice from loose bolts (including a recently "repaired" gear control lever).. Also, my kit includes small tubes of both red/blue "lock-tite". I currently have a single means of inflation, might consider an additional one.. Anyway, lots of great tips from those who have done it, probably the best to learn.. Although, I've heard it be said that "Experience is what you learn from your mistakes. Wisdom is learning from others' experience!" =) Ride Safe! |

Also for those doing a long ride to Homecoming. I suggest this site to see what kind of weather you're in for. http://www.weatherbonk.com/weather/routeWeather.js p |

"Would be great to hear about specific tools," Probably one of the best "tools" to carry would be a copy of the BRAN list (Buell Rider's Assistance Network ?) from the site here and highlight the folks along your route. Even if for nothing more to just call and say howdy to them if you're stopping for a break long enough to have a burger or breakfast someplace. Some folks on that list are in some fairly remote and out of the way places. |

Probably one of the best "tools" to carry would be a copy of the BRAN list (Buell Rider's Assistance Network ?) from the site here and highlight the folks along your route. The BRAN will be updated in June. There is a thread up above if you are interested in a Personalized BRAN. Just post there the states you need and an e-mail addy. |

Did some Vacation weeks horse trading and got the week off for Homecoming. Got the room booked at the Host Hotel and signed the Wife and I up on the Buell Web site. The last Homecoming we made was 05, and now to be able to make the 25th is great!!! Can't wait to see old friends and make new ones. |

Does Buell send out the registration packages after you register or are they sending them out in one lump mailing after the 11th? |

If I read everything correctly we pick up the packets at the host hotel. |

That's 100% retarded. Not everybody is staying at the damn hotel. I read the hours to pick the packets up.... "(Wednesday, July 2: Noon - 4 p.m. or Thursday, July 3: 8 a.m. - Noon)" Wtf is that? I have to drive to a damn hotel in Brookfield that I'm not staying at to pick up a packet (that I paid for) I need for East Troy? Cluster They should have just burried them in a top secret location somewhere and made us find them using GEOCACHE.com |

There Damn Skippy Better Be! .. If not, we'll end up 'creating' some and I'm sure the good folks at Buell wouldn't want us doing that.. (after all, there's no telling what the locals will do with a mass of Bulligans knocking around without good roads.. we'll be riding through peoples living rooms to keep it interesting.. ) There are probably a couple of folks up there that might enjoy that though.. hehehehehe) |

The Southern Kettle Moraine is very nice. If you take the back roads up to E.Lake, you'll love that too. |

My Dealer floated me a VIP package (thanks BuellGator).... Now I am split between the track day, or riding with a majority of the Buellers on the street. (Message edited by Paint shaker on May 13, 2008) |
