my wife(blastee) wants some things done to her blast. the important thing is doing something done to the handle bars. she don't like the stock ones and would like something a little lower(i think that the grips are to close together) and what all has to be changed out once you do change the bars. do all the cables need changing. next is putting a big bore kit on it. who has something that will give it more thump. it alread has the race kit(if that's what they call it) with the vance and hines muffler, filter and what not. was set up at the shop. also the seat, did they ever make another seat for this or is this change gonna be a custom thing for her. any and all help would be appreciated. |

Welcome to the Thumper Forum from the Big Buell side! The consensus here is the Super Bike bars from Chaparell is the way to go, I have them on both my Blasts. They are the bars the Blast should have come with. All the cabling fits, a little adjustment will get the bars where things don't hit and you can lock the steering. The seat needs help, custom or Corbin. Rear sets would be a big addition. Engine work, rejet if it is not already jetted for the V&H, cams, headwork and away you go.... |

Revolution Performance is a Badweb sponsor that sells big bore kits. 515 is the biggest you can go without boring the case, otherwise 600 (custom for even bigger). 10.5 comp piston too. Change the valve springs and ignition module and you can rev it up to 7500rpm (that gives a nice wide powerband esp. with the B50/ProSeries cams). If you want more ways to spend your money, we'll be happy find them! While I concur with Swampy I still dont see rearsets as an improvement. If you like that seat position, okay. Rearset pegs at stock height tend to drag on the ground though. |

went through that whole thread ez and that is deffinitely a cool project although someone else already has done that, at least this one is chronicled which makes it a lot better like joesbuell that he transformed. diane would like to make it into a miniuly of some sorts. i think those givi bags would look nice on it. one of the other things i don't like about the blast is the throttle response of it. had the dealer work on it some time ago but still not what i would like. |

Concur! realizing that there's only so much throttle response that can be expected out of a 30 hp bike. 45 slow/175 main and 2 needle shims as posted here (Thumper side) is almost spot on for recommended jetting. It'd be interesting to know what your dealer set yours at. |
